The tour was wonderful! I really enjoyed being able to learn and experience the island from horseback! The horses are beautiful and well looked after. They are also well trained and did a great job on the tour. Monica is awesome! She is very knowledgeable about horses and would provide helpful instruction to better communicate with your horse when needed. No matter your skill with riding I would recommend this tour if you are visiting Terceira Island!

This was the best way to start our trip in the Azores!
Neither of us had any riding experience but Monica and Fabio made sure we felt comfortable and safe with the horses before we left.
Detective was a fun horse to ride!

the tour was great. The horses with beginner riders on their backs relaxed even with traffic on the streets.
The idea of the walkie-talkie to get information about Terceira is simply brilliant.
The hosts were super friendly and helpful.

The entire experience was amazing! My wife and I did the long tour which was the perfect amount of time. The horses (Caramel and Flash) were perfect for us and were patient with our inexperience. Our favorite parts were going through the forest in between the trees high up in the hill and listening to all the history and facts about the island. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone.

We had a fantastic time on our horseback riding adventure! My fiancé and I enjoyed a memorable 3-hour tour, which, although it might seem lengthy, was the perfect amount of time to really dive into learning about horseback riding. Our host was exceptional—knowledgeable, friendly, and an overall calm teacher which made the experience even more enjoyable. As we rode, we not only gained riding skills but also learned fascinating details about the local wildlife. We were also provided water in the middle and after the journey, which was a nice touch. Great experience from start to finish!

We had an amazing experience with Basalto! It was a 40min ride up to the trail and we had plenty of amazing views of Terceira. I have already recommended it to the friends and family from the Azores. Great way to experience the island!

It was an amazing experience. Everyone at Basalto Club de Campo were amazing. The horses were magnificent and we got an excellent three our ride.
As well, we got a tour by Monica of everything we were seeing and curiosities of the island with was the cherry on top.
Lastly, big thanks to Monica as she drove me with her car to the nearest city.
Best experience in Terceira, Highly recommend!

Basalto is a very special place. My daughter and I were so happy to have found it - our visits there were some of our best experiences on Terceira. Monica is so kind and knowledgable, and takes excellent care of her beautiful horses. We booked a 3 hour horse trek and the scenery was stunning. Then my daughter had 3 riding lessons with Monica and enjoyed them so much she wishes she could continue regularly! We were very appreciative that Monica is able to teach so well in English. She is a patient, kind, knowledgable and creative teacher. It was so obvious to us how much she loves horses, as well as her farm and Terceira. We look forward to returning to Basalto again in the future. Obrigada, Monica!
