Sunset Tour in Positano and Amalfi from Sorrento by car

Angelo was our driver and he was amazing! He took plenty of stops along the way at scenic overlooks giving us great photos and memories. With the wild roads we felt extremely safe the entire time. He had some fun stories to share and was a great person.

The car was extremely comfortable and the driver was very friendly! It was a great way to see the Amalfi Cost in a comfortable way, particularly in the heat!

The experience was amazing! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves! Massimo was AMAZING and his customer service was excellent. A really good driver, felt safe and accommodated our needs. We even asked his to join the “photo shoot”. 😊

Massimo was extremely accomodating. He suggested a wonderful place to eat as well as showing some hidden gems and introducing us to some of the friendly locals. We had a great time!!

The tour was great! Massimo was very professional, patient and pleasant. We enjoyed the entire experience. Massimo was also nice to help us book a transfer from our hotel in Sorrento to Napoli on our way back home. Leonardo was the driver and also very professional and pleasant. Great driver and delivered a very relaxing and enjoyable 1 hr + drive for my family and I. Totally recommend them. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We were a bit late to meet Massimo at my hotel. Of course he was waiting for us by the car. The hotel concierge told us that Massimo was excellent. I couldn’t agree more. The drive is very difficult. The road twists and turns but Massimo handled it brilliantly while still pointing out all the beautiful sights. We stopped in several places to walk and look around. He suggested a few places that we would like to see. The gardens in Rovello were really beautiful. He also took us to a restaurant right on the water which was quite good.

I had lost all my attachments for my iPhone,iPad,etc and he went out of his way to make sure I got what I needed. My wife needed some medical supplies and he made numerous phone calls to help us alleviate the situation.

I am supposed to go on a tour in a few days but may cancel that and do another with Massimo. I’d like to spend more time with him. Overall we had a great day and I highly recommend him.

We appreciated Massimo’s flexibility. At the beginning he gave us the choice of two short visits to Amalfi and Positano or longer time at Positano with time for dinner. We chose the second and enjoyed the slower pace. He offered to take lots of photos for us and had great music with playing in the air conditioned van. The only negative was that it was a lot ot money essentially for a transfer to Positano and back to Sorrento.

With all the five star reviews, I truly hate being ‘that’ person who is the lone dissenter, and I hesitated writing this review, but this experience was not what we expected.

Let me first say it’s not entirely the company’s fault. In fact, I’d say most of it was our fault because we thought we were going to experience a boat cruise, not a car ride. We were led to believe that from viator, who we booked with, but that’s a whole other issue.

With that said, the company is not entirely blameless. For starters, the tour was described as being five hours with an English speaking driver. We were picked up at 5 and dropped off at 9, so not five hours. When the driver arrived, whose name was Fernando, I asked him if he was also the boat captain and he didn’t understand what I meant. Then as we were driving it was clear we weren’t going to the port, so I again asked about the boat tour. He didn’t understand (his English was minimal), but eventually we were able to communicate and he had me speak to his boss, who I assume is massimo. He explained the tour was strictly by car. We were all disappointed and frankly felt a little ripped off. At more than $600, we could easily have taken a ferry for far less and as an added bonus seen the coast from the sea, which is what we wanted. I would never have booked a car for the hour ride as I tend to get motion sickness, particularly on narrow, curving roads.

As for it being a ‘tour’, I’d say that’s a bit of a stretch. Fernando stopped twice for some pictures, but that’s not a tour by most standards.

But let me be clear…Fernando was very pleasant (except he asked us several times to make sure we give a five star review) and clearly cares about his job and the experiences of the customers. None of our negative feelings were his fault, but his English was about as good as my Italian, which is minimal, and he could have given us more time in Positano (we never got to Amalfi, but we took a ferry the next day to get there. And here’s a tip for those of you who have read this far: take the bus in Amalfi to Ravello. It’s the prettiest town around and not super crowded).

While in Italy for nearly three weeks, we participated in several tours and experiences and fortunately this was the only one where we felt like we had been taken advantage of.

The driver have a lot of limitations to communicate in English . Unfortunately was a little disorganized the tour. There is no sunset view.
