Etna, Wine and Alcantara Tour - From Taormina

Pepe was a fantastic guide. He was unflappable when confronted with autostrada exits being closed, or when a very large tour bus driver didn’t play by the rules of the road on the way up to Mt. Edna, Pepe just kept a smile on his face and went on with the tour! He was very knowledgeable about local history as well as volcano information (both local volcano history and general volcano facts). My friend and I were on the tour with 5 other people and Pepe made sure he knew our names and where we were from.

The etna craters and Alcantara gorge are both very impressive. Our guide, Nic, was a wealth of knowledge on the plants on etna (his specialty) and the geology and we learnt a lot. He was very kind and attentive, and a very safe driver. We were a group of seven. Lunch was tasty and the wine was lovely too. Highly recommend this tour and this company. Bring water shoes for the gorge!

Roberto you were extremely professional, helpful and knowledgeable. The whole day you were amazing. Thank you for your help on the steps. The organising was perfect. The lunch at the winery left a little wanting but there were a lot to feed and the wine was sparse. Other than that the day was perfect.

An excellent side trip from Taormina. My wife and I learned a lot about Mt. Etna and the surrounding country side. Our guide Daniele was excellent and was very enthusiastic in explaining the history about Mt. Etna and Sicily in general. We even heard Mt. Etna rumbling during the hike. There was no problem in finding the pickup spot from our hotel and Daniele was right on time. I would recommend this trip with a guide to anybody who would want to explore Mt. Etna. The wine tasting and food was also excellent. We did not do the Alcantara Gorge tour because it was pretty much a full day as it is. Our whole group decided to skip the river gorge.

PS - Be aware that there are other tour group operating at the same pickup point. We almost went to the wrong tour company.

We had a great time on this tour! Our guide Roberto was friendly and knowledgeable, and so passionate about Mt Etna. His enthusiasm made the tour very engaging and enjoyable. It was a perfectly balanced day of hiking, eating and sightseeing.

Really great tour for everybody, who want to see and do more in one day. Etna older craters, vulcanic cave, great local lunch with wine tasting and then Alcantara Gorges, perfect combination. Our tour guide was Tony and he was excellent, as he is local, scientist, his knowledge and experience are really endless, so we got plenty usefull information and he took perfect care about us. We were just 6 persons, one car, it was comfortable. So thanks a lot Tony and Etna People!

There were 4 people in my party. We all agreed that it was the most fantastic day in Sicily. Our guide, Roberto S., was very kind and funny. What impressed us the most was his passion and knowledge of Mt. Etna. He gave us information and insights that we would have never experienced. Lunch and wine was delicious. The gorge was extraordinary and we enjoyed the freezing water at the end of such a wonderful day!

Guide was good, having to cope with a mix of languages. Etna was great - a lot of walking though. Lunch with the wine was really good. Alcantara was a bit underwhelming, and we hadn’t done our research properly around this element so we could have done without that part but all in all a lovely experience.

Tony was an awesome guide. Very informative but still fun and funny. He made sure everyone was catered to and having a great time.
