Tour to the archaeological site of Nora - from Cagliari

I toured the sight with three friends, guided by Andrea, an excellent guide. He provided an historical timeline that put the features and location of these ruins into a digestible context.

We were fortunate to be treated to the virtual reality experience with which one “sees” the ruins as they were ages ago; vibrant, colorful and thrilling!!

Highly recommended way to fully appreciate this precious archeological treasure!

I loved this experience to see these ancient Roman ruins with a stunning view. The guide was fantastic and knew her stuff.

Raffa was a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable. Great conversationalist too! Great seeing the countryside! The lunch spot she suggested was truly a unique experience.

As it was not possible to visit Nora on that day, rather than cancel, Raffaela took us instead to Su Nuraxi. It's a fascinating place within easy reach of Cagliari and Raffaela is an excellent guide, full of enthusiasm for her subject. I look forward to doing the Nora tour on my next visit.

Excellent small group tour with a very informative guide. The Nora site is large with lots to see in a beautiful location. The tour was relaxed and the knowledgable guide made it a wonderful experience.

This was great value - it included the transport, entry ticket and Raffaela our fantastic and friendly tour guide. She is a trained archaeologist and a Sardinian so her knowledge of the site was fantastic, and we learned a lot more from her about Cagliari generally an the drive to and from Nora.

In a small group with a professional guide, we were able to ask as many questions as we liked, and were not just seeing sights from the Temple of Tanit, the ancient mosaics and the Roman theatre, but given detailed information to learn about the history of the ancient city of Nora and recognise the different architectural elements from various periods. So as the first Phoenician city in Sardinia (8th century BC) then Carthaginian and Roman, it had a number of influences.

The tour started on time, the van was air conditioned, clean, comfortable and we returned on time. The site had an enormous amount to look at.

It is not necessary to book but highly recommend you do so as to not miss out on seat. It is a site with little shade, so take a water bottle, hat, sunscreen and even an umbrella in the summer. There is a small cafe and toilets beside the ticket office.

On the drive to Nora and back we were able to see pink flamingos which was an added bonus.

If we had longer in Cagliari and time to do any more tours we would definitely use Arasolè.

Valentina was a wonderful and informative guide. We learnt so much that we wouldn't have without taking the tour. Highly recommend taking this tour.

We thoroughly enjoyed spending the morning with Laura. She was knowledgeable about Nora and gave a running commentary on the drive there about Cagliari and the island of Sardegna. She was well prepared and was very enthusiastic. She obviously enjoyed her job which made the tour more fun for us. I would highly recommend Laura and the tour to Nora as a lovely day to spend the morning in Sardegna.
