Amazing!

We did the blue hop on hop off bus.it was good as we saw a lot of the island.we went to the craft village which is being made bigger and better .we went to the ceramic shop which is very big and you could view the process.we also went to the glass factory and shop which was amazing.i. bought a piece of glass and could have bought a lot more but had to put in luggage and it was budget.

We then went to the mdina which was very interesting.

Lots of interesting shops restaurants.

The buildings were very old and being a walled city was narrow streets.

The restaurants were very good

I took pictures of the mdina ut not the craft village.

Booked in the morning straight on the bus within 5 minutes we planned where we wanted to visit and got off very easily at each stop, stayed at each location for an hour then hopped back on the bus really enjoyed the day spent about 6 hours exploring the North of Malta was well worth the money, ignore the negative reviews

Amazing!

We booked the Malta Sightseeing hop on hop off bus and found it great. Good map that explained where to get on and off and what to find there, helpful staff on the bus and fab day out which we would recommend. The headphones didn't work - but we found we didn't really need them. There are two companies that run hop on hop off, so you need to make sure you get on the right bus.

We booked all our trips through Lesley at the Tourist Activity Centre, next to the Qawra Palace Hotel. She was very knowledgable and explained everything really well.

Amazing!

We went on Malta Sightseeing Red line, and contrary to some of the negative reviews we read, we had a really good trip. The bus was on time and picked us up by the Statue at the roundabout. We had a real informative tour that we where able to follow on the headphones that where given out. We got off at the ancient temple excavation site and got on the next bus that came as scheduled an hour later. Then we where let off of about 20 min in Sliema and another bus came and picked us up and took us back to where we started. Well organized and we truly enjoyed it. We did pick a day when no major Cruise ships where scheduled as we think adding 4-5000 people to the city of Valetta could cause problems with traffic jams and lots of people trying to do sightseeing on Hop on Hop off. So ours was real mellow!

THIS is very much a tour which lets you pick and choose.

I started from Sliema and went through Valletta, Mosta, Mdina, Golden Bay, St Paul's Bay and back to Sliema.

Along the way I stopped and explored the lovely St Anton Gardens, the Ta Qali craft village, the incredible church at Mosta and the walled hilltop town of Mdina.

There are a host of other attractions along the route and it just a question of choosing what places appeal most to your tastes.

You have to start early to get the most out of this service and I made sure my 20 Euros ticket gave me more than seven hours of exploring by catching the first sightseeing bus I could at around 9am.

The later you leave it the less time you have and the less value for money it becomes since there are cheaper local bus services which go to a lot of the attractions.

The advantage of the sightseeing bus is that it visits a lot of places on one route.

Be prepared for buses to be late. Things happen on Malta and just because the timetable says a bus will be at a drop-off point at quarter past and quarter to the hour doesn't mean it will happen.

One bus I was waiting for was twenty minutes late and I found out it had been held up by a bad crash.

One thing I particularly liked was that when I wasn't exploring I could just sit back on the top deck, plug in some earphones provided and get a running commentary and what the bus was passing.

These are heavily used buses so expect a few of the audio points not to work or to stutter. It is just an inevitable issue caused by the popularity of the service.

Definitely worth using the tour which I did twice, varying the places I got off at to keep my interest fresh.
