My gf and I went aurora hunting in guidance with Alex. Alex is such a professional in aurora hunting and shared many fun facts about Aurora and Finland. Alex first dropped us by a lake with Tipi and we saw aurora light there already. however the light was weak. Then Alex took us to a place with better sight on the light. and the pictures he has taken for us were absolutely gorgeous. We can’t believe we can see the aurora light in the first stay in Rovaniemi. Highly recommended!

It was very good. The view was breath taking. It was near by the lake and you can see all the stars. The tour guide was very nice and friendly.

Alex was an amazing host and taught us so much about Finnish culture and the auroras. We were lucky enough to see the lights and had amazing photo opportunities.

It was really nice to be able to see the northen lights next to a lake.
A fantastic experience, very knowledgeable and friendly guides, it was also a pleasure that one of them were italian like me and my friend. So if you aren't so able with english ask for Edoardo.

We did two tours with Nordic Adventures in February 2022. We enjoyed the private hut tour but unfortunately didn’t see the lights that night. The hut was about 30 mins drive from Santa’s Village south of Rovianemi. The hut is a little house with a table and chairs. It had plenty of room for warming up. We hung out on the dock on the frozen lake looking for the lights while the kids played in the snow. Our guide Alex was really nice. He made sausages and hot juice and got a sled and snow toys out for the kids. It was great to have the hut to go in and warm up. There is also a rustic bathroom which is a plus when your kids are chugging berry juice! The only con to this tour is that you are in a fixed location and not moving to find the lights. Alex did offer to stop somewhere else on the way back but it was after midnight and our kids were exhausted. This tour ran from 9pm to 1am so keep that in mind with kids. But with the chance to play in the snow and warm up frequently, they were fine for the duration of the tour. Alex also showed us how to set up our camera even though we ended up not taking pictures.
We also did the three hour mini bus tour the next night and saw the lights then. If you have time to do a few tours, I’d recommend this one as we had fun despite no lights. If you only have one night to chase lights, I think I’d choose the three hour minibus tour with Nordic Adventures as that one moves around based on the forecast. I was happy to have the chance to try to different tours..
I did a lot of research and I think the price with Nordic Adventures was a bit better than some other companies as not all companies offered a kid rate. I also liked that the group size was maximum 7-8. We were a group of five and ended up with no one else in our tours either night, It would have been fine to have a couple more people but it was nice to spread out in the van and not worry about Covid.

Our guide Allex attentively looked after our family of 4 ( 2 adults and 2 young kids)We loved his stories about the region and insights to life in Lapland . He made sure we enjoyed our tour, stayed warm and got amazing photos! He even extended a helping hand to a group of people who had their car stuck in snow. Thank you Alex !
