Enchanted France and Black Forest

Welcome to the start of your Europamundo journey! We'll head south to the picturesque city of Blois, where we recommend a visit to the historic Blois Castle. From there, we continue to the regional capital of Tours, nestled on the banks of the Loire River. After a leisurely stroll and lunch, we'll visit the famous Chateau de Villandry, renowned for its stunning gardens and flowers. Our day concludes in the medieval city of Amboise, where dinner awaits.

Our day begins with a leisurely stroll from Amboise to the Clos Lucé mansion, where Leonardo da Vinci spent his last years. We'll then explore the iconic Château de Chenonceau, a marvel of architecture straddling the River Cher. Our journey continues with a visit to the grand Chambord Castle before we head to Limoges, a city renowned for its exquisite porcelain. We suggest exploring its historic center and the magnificent Saint Etienne Cathedral.

We depart Limoges for the enchanting Dordogne region, home to charming villages and stunning countryside. Our first stop is Lascaux, where we'll visit the museum and replica of the caves, showcasing magnificent prehistoric cave paintings. We then explore Sarlat, a world heritage town with a beautifully preserved Renaissance historic center. In Beynac, we visit a medieval castle overlooking the river before ending our day in Rocamadour, a stunning medieval village with an important sanctuary. We recommend a walk down the via crucis and a return trip via the lift. Dinner is included.

Our day begins with a visit to the impressive Padirac Caves, where we'll enjoy a boat ride on the underground river. We then stop at Collonges la Rouge, a picturesque village built with red stone on the Way of St James. After lunch, we travel to St. Emilion, in the heart of the Bordeaux wine-producing region. Our day concludes in Bordeaux, where we arrive in the late afternoon. Please note, the caves may be closed from November until the end of March due to weather conditions.

We spend the morning exploring Bordeaux, a city declared a world heritage site. Marvel at the 'water mirror' and stroll through the old town with its pedestrian streets and 11th-century cathedral. We'll visit the Cite du Vin, an impressive interactive museum that recounts the history of wine production, complete with a wine tasting at the viewpoint over Bordeaux. After some free time for lunch, we head towards the Pyrenees, arriving in Lourdes in the mid-afternoon. We recommend attending the candle procession. Dinner is included.

We journey through the south of France, stopping in Carcassonne, a city surrounded by Europe's most beautiful walls. After lunch, we continue to Narbonne, where you'll have free time to explore this historic Occitan city with its picturesque historic center. We arrive in Marseille, France's second-largest city, in the late afternoon. We recommend a walk through its vibrant 'Vieux port', full of life and small restaurants.

Today, we explore some of the most beautiful places in Provence. We start with Arles, a world heritage city, known for its Roman and medieval heritage and its association with Van Gogh. In Les Baux, we visit this small medieval village and include admission to the Carrieres de Lumiere, an impressive underground art, image, and sound show. After lunch and a stroll in Avignon, we continue to Lyon, where we'll explore the World Heritage Site old town and take the cable car to Notre Dame de Fourviere for a great view over the city.

We depart Lyon for the Burgundy region, stopping at Tournus, a quaint town with an imposing stone gate and a large abbey. We then travel to Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy, where you'll have time for lunch and exploration. We recommend visiting the wine museum or the historic hospice. Next, we visit the 15th-century Castle of Savigny, which houses some extraordinary museums. Our day concludes in Dijon, the capital of Burgundy, known for its lively streets and numerous medieval and Renaissance buildings.

We start our day in Besançon, a city of Roman origin with a beautiful historic center and 17th-century citadel. We then head to Alsace, a French region with deep Germanic roots. We stop in Colmar, known for its unique architecture, colorful wooden houses, and canals. After lunch, we visit two of the most beautiful towns in Alsace, Riquewihr and Ribeauville, before arriving in Strasbourg in the evening. We suggest exploring the cathedral area and Petite France, full of charming places and small restaurants.

We spend the morning in Strasbourg, the capital of Alsace and the seat of the European Parliament. We then head to Germany, admiring beautiful mountain landscapes and towns of the Black Forest. In Freiburg, we have time for lunch and a walk through this university city with its medieval center. We then visit Triberg, known for its cuckoo clocks, and include a visit to the Triberg Falls, the highest in Germany. We continue to Gengenbach, a small town with a beautiful central square, before arriving in Baden-Baden, a spa city that attracted nobles and upper bourgeoisie from all over Europe.

We start the day in Baden-Baden before heading to Rhineland-Palatinate. We stop in Speyer, where you can visit the great Romanesque cathedral, a World Heritage Site, and stroll through the old quarter. We then continue to Heidelberg, where we include a cable car to its impressive castle, offering great views over the city. After lunch and a walk through the old town, we arrive in Frankfurt, a large financial city known for its modern skyscrapers, old town, views over the Rhine River, and vibrant nightlife.

Today, we travel to Luxembourg, a cosmopolitan city that combines a rich history with modernity. After lunch, we head to France, stopping in Reims, where you can see its impressive Gothic cathedral, the coronation site of many French kings. We arrive in Paris at the end of the day.
