Gordes Provencal Escape

Your journey begins in the city of Avignon, from where we'll arrange your transfer to the enchanting village of Gordes. After settling into your hotel and preparing your bike, you'll have the rest of the day to explore this charming Provencal village at your leisure.

Day two takes you on a cycling tour through the Luberon area, made famous by Peter Mayle's book 'One Year in Provence'. You'll visit the villages of Oppède-le-Vieux, Ménerbes, and Bonnieux, and explore the historical Castle of Lacoste, once home to the notorious Marquis de Sade.

On the third day, you'll cycle through the region's famous ochre hills, making your way to the town of Roussillon. Here, you'll learn about the history of ochre pigment, which was first developed using ochre from the mines of the Apt Valley.

Day four offers three different cycling options. You can choose a challenging ride up to Mont Ventoux, passing by the picturesque Senanque Abbey and through the beautiful village of Venasque before reaching Carpentras. Alternatively, you can opt for a more relaxed ride to Isle sur la Sorgue, visiting Fontaine-de-Vaucluse along the way. The third option takes you through the Col de Murs on a scenic mountain road, with a stop at Senanque Abbey.

On the final day of the tour, you'll have the morning to enjoy Gordes before we arrange your transfer back to Avignon. You can choose to extend your stay in Avignon or catch a train to Paris or another destination.
