You will be provided with panniers to carry your gear during the day. Children’s bikes, children trailer (1 – 2 children – max. 40kg) and child seat are subject to availability on a request basis - reservation is necessary in advance.
ELECTRIC POWERED BIKE
A limited number are available for an additional supplement. These must be requested at the time of booking or in advance. Our specially made 8-speed KTM or Flyer models increase your pedaling power 3 fold and allows cyclists of different athletic conditions to book a bike tour together. The saddles vary between models, and will be free-wheel or with a backpedal brake (on request). In 'normal' mode the battery can power up to 100km / 62mi and in the highest mode it can power approx 65-70km / 40-43.5mi.
NOTE
Helmet rental is not included - you can bring your own or you can purchase one locally.
For each bike you will receive one saddlebag (pannier). The saddlebags are not 100 % waterproof, therefore please pack your mobile phone, camera and spare clothes in plastic bags, especially on rainy days. If a stage is not so long you might arrive at your hotel before your luggage. We therefore recommend packing some spare clothes in your saddlebag (If the weather is not good this is very important).
In the case of a puncture the assumption is that you can repair. You will be given a puncture repair kit, to fix the issue.
5 breakfasts, 4 dinners (dinner not included in Vienna). Continental breakfasts are served and usually consist of breads, jams, cheese, occasionally eggs and meats, coffee, tea and juices. Dinner will consist of 3 courses which include regional specialities
5 nights accommodation in rooms with ensuite facilities on a twin share basis in 3 star hotels and inns
The hotels used on this trip are 3-4 star and wifi is generally available (at least in the hotel lobby). The hotels may not be located in towns. They are chosen for their access to the Danube cycle way and their cyclist friendly facilities.
In Austria note that a twin room is not always associated with having two beds! Quite often a twin bed has one or two mattresses on the same bedframe but with two separate duvets. Sometimes there might be two beds positioned together, but they cannot be separated because of constraints of the room. Please accept our apologies for this, but having inspected many hotel rooms, there are not many twin rooms which have two separated beds, except in more modern or international style hotels.
*Additional nights can be booked in Passau (pre tour), Vienna (post tour) for an additional cost. Please ensure you advise us of any rest days you require at time of booking as any changes after booking will incur additional fees.
Pre and post tour accommodation can be added on or after booking. Please see our terms and conditions or contact us for more details.
