PRIVATE BEHIND THE BERLIN WALL and COLD WAR BERLIN TOUR

Our family (2 adults and children 12 y.o. and 15 y.o.) enjoyed this tour very much. Kirin was an excellent guide and incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the Berlin (and so much more). My husband had booked this tour so I went into it not knowing what to expect. He told us the tour would be 3.5 hours (closer to 4). I have to be honest that I am not a huge history buff and thought that it might be a "very long" 3.5 hours, but the time went by very quickly and the tour was so fascinating. It was the end of January so quite cold but we stopped in some cafes along the way to warm up. My 15 year old really enjoyed it, my 12 year old was a little overwhelmed but still found it interesting. You cover a lot of ground and definitely get your moneys worth (we chose the private tour).

I highly recommend this tour, you learn so much! And I would definitely do another tour with Kirin.

Due to my age, I related to the history of the Wall, alot of it occurred "in my days".

Aurel was a very knowledgeable guide and made this tour quite interesting. He did a great job explaining what the area was like during the Cold War as well as references to when Hilter was in power. It was a lovely history lesson we especially enjoyed his personal connection in a story about his grandparents. It made the tour even more meaningful. We highly recommend this tour. There was a lot of walking but the pacing was great and we also did take a train to one of the areas.

This was by far our favorite thing we did in Berlin. Paul was absolutely incredible! We couldn't have asked for a better tour experience. Paul was so knowledgeable, friendly, and kept our interests peaked the entire time. We learned so much, and enjoyed every minute.

I can’t say enough about how great our tour was with Cairan. He was so knowledgeable and passionate about the history that it was infectious. We were in Europe for two weeks and we decided this tour was the top experience. Our three teens found him engaging and the history fascinating. Highly recommend Cairan and his tour.

Cairan was my guide and was a fountain of information. I learned stories about the people who escaped to West Berlin. It made the history even more chilling and unforgettable .

Paul is extremely knowledgeable about the Berlin Wall, the Cold War, German history, and Munich in general. We met him near the Brandenburg gate where we started our tour and he immediately engaged our family with an interesting conversation about the historical context of what we would be seeing on the tour. The entire walking tour was fascinating and we stopped at all the expected sites but Paul also pointed out many other things along the way. He also gave us some great suggestions for lunch, coffee etc. We all thoroughly enjoyed the tour and learned a tremendous amount. Highly recommend this tour and Paul as a guide.

The tour was fantastic, Simon gave us a comprehensive history of the Cold War with lots of anecdotal stories plus a few jokes thrown in. We felt that we learned so much and really enjoyed it. Thank you Simon!

We took the Private Behind the Berlin Wall and Cold War Berlin Tour with Paul and it was fantastic!!! We saw and learned so much of Berlin’s history! He was very knowledgeable! Paul was flexible with the schedule and the sites to visit. We had taken a different tour the day before and it included a monument scheduled on this tour, so he gave us the option of skipping it or going to it again. He was very considerate of my elderly parents and their speed of walking. We never felt rushed. He made sure to point out steps to ensure their safety. He was so friendly and fun to get to know. He made sure we had a rest at a cafe he recommended that is popular in Berlin. They had delicious coffee and pastries! Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend this tour and Paul as a guide!
