Embark on an exhilarating 8-day cycling tour through the heart of Greece, where history and mythology come alive. This multi-day tour takes you from the bustling capital of Athens to the serene island of Poros, the ancient towns of Epidaurus and Nafplio, and the archaeological marvels of Mycenae and Nemea. Along the way, you'll traverse stunning coastlines, olive groves, and vineyards, and delve into the country's rich history at UNESCO World Heritage sites. The journey culminates with a guided tour of Athens' historic downtown, where you'll explore the Acropolis and other iconic landmarks. Breakfasts are generally Greek buffet-style with bread/toast, butter, jam, fresh juice, milk, local yoghurt, honey, and coffee or tea. We have not included any evening meals in the price of the trip to allow you more freedom over where and what you eat. There are some fantastic restaurants along the route and your guide can recommend their favourite places based on your personal tastes and budget. Greek food has strong influences from Italy and Turkey; expect lots of vegetables, olive oil, bread, and meats, including lamb, chicken and pork.

Transfers to and from the airport will be by private vehicle (normally minibus). All the rides are designed to be door-to-door, however we take boats on certain days. On Day 2, we take a ferry to Poros Island. Please note, the ferry timetable is modified frequently at very short notice. On occasion, we may have to take an early ferry, in which case the Athens visit will be done at the end of the trip (on the last day before the flight). On Day 7, we usually take a bus from Loutraki to Athens. While cycling, the vehicle will carry your baggage and is available if you choose to ‘sit out’ a section of the ride (limited seats available).
You will spend seven nights in two- and three-star hotels and pensions, often near interesting sights or by the Aegean. All rooms have en suite facilities.
Several of the hotels are a short walk from the beach, allowing plenty of opportunities to finish the day with a sea swim. One hotel has a pool.

Start your day with a bike ride through Athens, heading to the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. From there, take a ferry to the picturesque island of Poros. Cycle around the island, passing the Russian naval base and numerous scenic bays. Conclude your day with a visit to the Temple of Poseidon and a refreshing swim at Askeli beach.

After a walking tour of Poros town, hop on a boat to the Peloponnese mainland. Cycle along the stunning coastline, passing through olive groves and quiet hamlets. Conclude your day with a steep descent to the ancient town of Epidaurus, where you'll spend the night.

Leave Tolo behind as you cycle to Nafplio, a city known for its neoclassical buildings and the Palamidi Castle. Enjoy an off-road adventure to Karathonas beach before heading to Mycenae. Here, you'll visit an archaeological site atop a hill, home to the imposing Lion Gate and the vault-shaped tombs of Lions, Aegisthus, and Clytemnestra.
