Greece, Israel and Jordan or Viceversa - The Best of East

Welcome to Athens, the cradle of Western civilization. Upon your arrival, you'll be greeted and transferred to your selected hotel for a well-deserved rest. The remainder of the day is yours to relax and settle in.

Begin your day with a panoramic tour of Athens, taking in the city's neoclassical center, including the Parliament, University, National Library, and Academy. Visit the Ilion Palace, Temple of Zeus, Hadrian's Gate, and the Panathenaic Stadium among other mythical monuments. The highlight of the day is a visit to the imposing Acropolis. The afternoon is free for you to explore the city at your leisure.

Depart Athens and head towards the Corinth Canal, marking your entry into the Peloponnese region. Visit the Theater of Epidaurus, renowned for its acoustics, and the archaeological site and museum of Mycenae. Your day ends in Olympia, where you'll enjoy dinner and overnight stay.

Start your day exploring the ancient Olympic Stadium, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. Visit the Museum of Olympia to delve deeper into the history of this iconic site. In the afternoon, return to Athens, arriving around 6:30 p.m. for your overnight stay.

Today, you'll be transferred to the airport for your flight to Tel-Aviv (flight not included). Upon arrival at Ben Gurion airport, you'll be assisted and transferred to your hotel in Jerusalem for your overnight stay.

Drive to the Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of the city, then continue to the Garden of Gethsemane to visit the Basilica of the Agony. Visit the Israel Museum, housing the Shrine of the Book and a model of Jerusalem during the time of Jesus. In the afternoon, depart for Bethlehem to visit the Basilica of the Nativity, the Grotto of St. Jerome, and the Church of Saint Catherine. Return to Jerusalem for your overnight stay.

Start your day with a visit to Mount Zion to see the Tomb of King David, the Cenacle, and the Abbey of the Dormition. Continue to the old city and follow the 14 stations of the Via Dolorosa, visiting the Church of the Flagellation, the Chapel of the Condemnation, the Calvary, and the Holy Sepulchre. Visit the Jewish Quarter and the Roman Cardo, and end your day at Ein Karem, visiting the birthplace of Saint John the Baptist and the Wailing Wall.

Enjoy a day off to relax or explore Jerusalem at your own pace. You may choose to take an optional excursion to Massada and the Dead Sea (not included). Overnight stay in Jerusalem.

Depart Jerusalem for the Sheikh Hussein Bridge, the border between Israel and Jordan. After immigration formalities, continue to Jerash, one of the cities of the Decapolis. Explore the Arc de Triomphe, the oval square, the colonnade, the temple of Aphrodite, and the Roman theatre. After the visit, continue to Amman for your overnight stay.

Start your day with a panoramic view of Amman before heading to Madaba to visit the Church of Saint George, home to the first mosaic map of the Holy Land. Continue to Mount Nebo for a panoramic view of the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. In the afternoon, proceed to Petra for your overnight stay.

Dedicate your day to exploring Petra, the rose-colored capital of the Nabataeans. Discover the city's most significant monuments, including the Treasury, the Colored Tombs, the Royal Tombs, and the Monastery. Petra is a place you must visit at least once in your lifetime. In the afternoon, transfer back to Amman for your overnight stay.

Your 12-day journey through Greece, Israel, and Jordan comes to an end today. At the appropriate time, you'll be transferred to Amman airport for your onward journey. Safe travels!
