Highlights of the Mainland: Delphi and Meteora

Welcome to Athens, the heart of Greece. Upon your arrival at Athens airport, you'll be escorted to your hotel in the city. Spend the rest of your day at leisure, exploring the city at your own pace. Don't miss out on the famous Plaka flea market, a treasure trove of antiques, souvenirs, and local handicrafts. Overnight stay will be in Athens.

After a hearty breakfast, embark on a luxury bus journey to the northwest, arriving at Delphi around noon. Known for its theater, Temple of Apollo, and ancient ruins, Delphi was once considered the center of the earth and the universe in the classical Greek world. Visit the archaeological site and the famous Temple of Apollo. In the afternoon, depart through Central Greece, stopping briefly in the cities of Lamia and Trikala, before reaching Kalambaka. This small town, nestled at the foot of majestic grey rocks, is known for the Meteora Monasteries. Overnight stay will be in Kalambaka.

Start your day with a delicious breakfast before heading to the UNESCO-listed Meteora. Tour the cliff-top monasteries, built on top of rock towers, offering breathtaking views over the plain. These monasteries have provided inaccessible retreats for monks for centuries. On your way back to Athens, make a short stop at the heroic monument of Leonidas, the king of Sparta, in Thermopylae. Arrive in Athens in the early evening. You can choose to extend your stay in Athens or transfer to Athens airport for your flight back home.
