Hiking Zagori & Meteora

Welcome to Athens, the heart of Greece! Upon your arrival at Athens International Airport, make your way to your hotel located in the city center. Spend the day at your leisure, exploring the city's iconic sites such as the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, and the Philopappou Hill. Stroll through the charming neighborhoods of Plaka, Monastiraki, and Thissio, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere of the city. In the evening, meet your guide and fellow travelers for a welcome briefing. Accommodation for the night will be at a 3* hotel in Athens city center (or similar).

Start your day early with a scenic drive to the stunning region of Zagori. Upon arrival, enjoy a quick outdoor snack before embarking on your first hike. Traverse the beautiful Vradeto Steps, visit the highest village of Zagori, Vradeto, and enjoy panoramic views of the gorge from the Beloe viewpoint. After the hike, transfer to Vitsa village and check into a traditional family-run guesthouse where you'll enjoy a homemade dinner. Overnight will be at a traditional guesthouse in Vitsa village (or similar).

After a hearty homemade breakfast, set out to explore the historic arch stone bridges of Zagori. Start your journey from Vitsa, descend to Misios bridge, visit the quaint village of Koukouli, and marvel at the spectacular arched stone bridges near Kipi village. This flexible hike can be customized to suit your preferences. After a day of exploration, return to your guesthouse in Vitsa for dinner and rest. Overnight will be at a traditional guesthouse in Vitsa village (or similar).

Today's adventure takes you to one of the world's deepest gorges, the Vikos Gorge. Starting from Monodendri village, embark on a 6-hour hike through the gorge, admiring the diverse flora and fauna of Northern Pindos National Park. After crossing the canyon, transfer to Papigo village for dinner and overnight stay. Overnight will be at a traditional guesthouse in Papigo village (or similar).

Begin your day early and ascend from Papigo village to the Astraka refuge. After a brief pause, continue your hike to the beautiful Dragon Lake, situated at an elevation of 2050m. The views over the lake and the surrounding mountains will undoubtedly reward you after a full day of hiking. Tonight, you'll stay at the Astraka Mountain Refuge, where a homemade dinner awaits. Overnight will be at the Astraka Mountain Refuge (or similar).

Start your day early with a beautiful sunrise at the refuge. After breakfast, descend back to Papigo village and visit the natural pools in Ovires. After lunch, depart for the UNESCO World Heritage site of Meteora. Upon arrival, enjoy a short car tour to a couple of scenic viewpoints before checking into your hotel. Overnight will be at a 3* hotel in Meteora (or similar).
