Peloponnese and Meteora

Welcome to Greece! Upon your arrival in Athens, we will arrange your transfer to the hotel. Once you've settled in, check the hotel's information boards for details about the welcome meeting with your guide and fellow travelers.

Today, we'll explore Athens with a local guide. We'll visit the Presidential Palace, the Panathinaikos Stadium, and the bustling city center. Our tour will conclude at the Acropolis. In the evening, we'll head to the Plaka area, a vibrant neighborhood filled with quaint Greek bars, where you can immerse yourself in the country's rich folklore.

We'll journey to the Peloponnese region today, making a brief stop at the impressive Corinth Channel. We'll continue through the mountains to Tripoli, the capital of the Arcadia region, where you'll have some free time to explore. Next, we'll visit Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games, and explore its archaeological site with a local guide. We'll end the day in Patras, a lively port city known for its medieval fortress and large cathedral. Dinner is included.

After breakfast, we'll cross the spectacular Antirrio River Bridge and travel through Central Greece and Epirus to reach the port town of Igoumenitsa. From here, we'll embark on a ferry to the beautiful island of Corfu. We'll explore its Venetian-style capital, Kerkyra, and visit the picturesque Kanoni, a Byzantine church on a small island. After our island adventure, we'll return to mainland Greece and spend the night in Igoumenitsa or a nearby location.

We'll travel through the high mountains of Epirus to reach Metsovo, a picturesque Balkan village nestled between mountains. After a stroll through its charming streets, we'll continue to Kastraki, a village with stunning views over the Meteora valley. Here, we'll visit the Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its monasteries perched atop immense rock formations. We'll explore the valley and visit one of its most famous monasteries before heading to Kalambaka for the night. Dinner is included.

We'll travel south through the Thessaly region, stopping at the beautiful archaeological complex of Delphi, which overlooks the Gulf of Corinth. After lunch, we'll visit the Osios Loukas Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its stunning 11th-century mosaics. We'll then continue our journey back to Athens, arriving in the evening.

After breakfast, our unforgettable journey through Greece will come to an end. We hope you leave with lasting memories and a deeper appreciation for this beautiful country.
