7 Days Transylvania & Bucovina from Budapest to Bucharest

Start your Romanian adventure with a transfer from your hotel to Timisoara, a city renowned for its diverse architectural styles and vibrant cultural scene. Spend the day exploring the city's Turkish, Serbian, Austrian, and German influences before settling in for the night at a 4* hotel (or similar).

Day two takes you to the awe-inspiring Corvin Castle, one of the most beautiful gothic castles in Eastern Europe. From there, you'll journey to Alba Iulia, a city of great historical significance, before ending the day in Sibiu, the European Capital of Culture in 2007. Here, you'll explore the medieval Council Tower, the Brukenthal Museum, and the city's beautiful squares before retiring to a 3* hotel (or similar) for the night.

Day three begins with a visit to Sighisoara, a UNESCO heritage site and the best-preserved citadel in Europe. After exploring its historic center, you'll head to Targu Mures, a city known for its baroque architecture and Hungarian heritage. The day concludes in Bistrita, where you'll visit the city's main monument, the Lutheran church, before spending the night in a 3* hotel (or similar).

Day four takes you to Bucovina, a region known for its Orthodox monasteries with external wall paintings, which are part of the UNESCO World Heritage. You'll visit three of the most important monasteries: Moldovita, Sucevita, and Voronet, each a testament to the region's rich religious and artistic heritage. Spend the night in either Hotel Gerald's 4* in Radauti or Best Western 4* in Gura Humorului (or similar).

Day five takes you to the Bicaz Gorges, where you'll marvel at the breathtaking landscape and explore a market filled with local handicrafts and souvenirs. You'll also visit the Red Lake, a natural barrier lake known for its unique atmosphere and local legends. Here, you'll visit the First Romanian School and the Black Church, the largest evangelical Gothic church in Eastern Europe. Later, you'll explore Bran Castle, also known as Dracula's Castle, before arriving in Sinaia, the pearl of the Carpathians, where you'll spend the night in a 4* hotel (or similar).

The final day of your Romanian adventure begins with a visit to Peles Castle, one of the most beautiful castles in Europe. After exploring its unique rooms and admiring its stunning architecture, you'll head to Bucharest, Romania's vibrant capital. Here, you'll enjoy a panoramic tour of the city's landmarks, including the Triumph Arch, Atheneum, Revolution Square, and Parliament Palace.
