12 Days Iceland Ring Road Tour in a Motorhome

Welcome to Iceland! Upon your arrival, your guide will greet you and kickstart your Icelandic adventure. Your first stop is the famous Blue Lagoon, a geothermal spa known for its warm, mineral-rich waters. Here, you can unwind and recharge, making use of the in-water mask booth, sauna, steam room, and in-water bar. After a relaxing day at the Blue Lagoon, we'll head to the town of Borganes where you'll spend the night.

Today, we'll explore the natural beauty of East Iceland. Our first stop is Hallormsstaður Forest, the largest forest in Iceland, perfect for some light hiking. We'll then travel along Lake Lagarfljót, where you might spot the mythical worm-like creature said to live in the lake. Next, we'll hike up to Hengifoss, a waterfall falling over striated rock. If you're up for more hiking, you can take an 8km hike around the waterfall circle at Laugarfell, where you can see five waterfalls and one canyon. We'll spend the night in Egilsstaðir.

We'll start the day driving along the scenic Eastfjords of Iceland, home to wild reindeers. During the summer, we'll take a detour to Borgarfjörðarhöfn to visit the puffins. We'll also visit Eggin í Gleðivík, where giant sculptures of bird eggs line the coast, and an old Viking village situated right beside the picturesque Vestrahorn and Stokksnes. We'll spend the night in Hofn, known as the Lobster Capital of Iceland.

We'll start the day by heading to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, a 200m deep glacial lagoon filled with icebergs from Breiðamerkurjökull, an outlet glacier of Europe's largest glacier. You can choose to take a boat ride between the icebergs or walk alongside the lagoon for stunning views. Across the road, we'll visit Diamond Beach, a black sand beach full of smaller ice rocks sparkling like diamonds in the daylight. We'll spend the night in Skaftafell.

We'll start the day with a hike to Svartifoss, known as the black waterfall, where water falls between basalt columns. We'll also visit the Eldhraun lava field, the largest lava field in the world. Then, we'll head to Reynisfjara, the black sand beach where the massive waves of the Atlantic meet the unique basalt columns in the cliffs above the sand. If you visit during the summer, you can see puffins and dozens of other unique bird species nesting on top of these cliffs. We'll spend the night in Vik.

Today, we'll visit two of Iceland's most famous waterfalls. First, we'll head to Skógafoss, a picturesque waterfall tucked in a little gorge. You can climb the staircase to the shelf above the waterfall for stunning views. Next, we'll visit Seljalandsfoss, where you can make a short hike behind the falls. The scene behind the fall and the trembling ground from the power of the falling water makes for an unforgettable experience. We'll spend the night in Hella/Hvolsvollur.

We'll start the day by visiting Þingvellir National Park, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates are moving away from each other. Next, we'll head to the Geysir geothermal area, home to hundreds of colorful hot springs and two geysers. Our last stop of the day is Gullfoss, a majestic waterfall that falls into a deep canyon. We'll spend the night in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland.

Today, we'll take a city tour of Reykjavik, covering the city's top attractions. We'll visit Perlan, a glass dome offering a 360-degree view of the city, and Höfði, an old building where an important summit between former U.S. President Ronald Reagan and former U.S.S.R. Secretary General Mikhail Gorbachev took place in 1986. We'll also visit Hallgrímskirkja, a church whose design was inspired by basalt lava columns. We'll spend the night in Reykjavik.
