Day 1 – Day 1: BSI bus terminal - Þórsmörk

Our adventure begins at the BSI bus terminal, from where we will embark on a scenic journey to the stunning glacier valley of Þórsmörk. Along the way, we will pass through the charming villages of Selfoss, Hella, and Hvolsvöllur. Upon arrival at Þórsmörk, we will settle into the Langidalur hut, our home for the next three nights. After lunch, we will set out on our first hike, crossing the Krossá river and exploring the unique rock formation of Tröllakirkja. Depending on the group's preference, we will either venture into the beautiful Hvannárgil valley or ascend Mt. Réttarfell. We will return to our hut in time to prepare a hearty dinner.
Day 2 – Day 2: Langidalur hut - Fimmvörðuháls - Þórsmörk

Day two will see us ascending the hills to the pass of Fimmvörðuháls, walking along the Kattarhryggir ridges and taking in the breathtaking views of the impressive Útigönguhöfði mountain. We will then traverse the Morinsheiði heath, where we will marvel at the lava stream that flowed from the Fimmvörðuháls volcano in 2010. As we climb higher, we will reach the lava field and the two craters, Magni and Móði, that erupted before the main Eyjafjallajökull crater. We will then return to Þórsmörk, taking in the magnificent views of the glaciers and the beautiful valley before enjoying dinner and a restful night in the Langidalur Hut.

On the third day, we will embark on a scenic hike with extraordinary views over Goðaland, the glaciers, and the inner part of Þórsmörk. Our journey will take us into the Slyppugil valley and towards Tindfjallagil, where we will find the unique rock formation of Tröllakirkja. For those seeking a challenge, we will have the opportunity to climb Mt Rjúpnafell. We will then follow the banks of the Krossá river back to our hut, where a delicious barbeque feast awaits us.

On our final day, we will spend the morning in Þórsmörk, climbing the small mountain of Valahnúkur and taking in its breath-taking views of the surrounding landscape. We will then descend to the Sönghellir cave and Húsadalur before heading back to Langidalur. In the afternoon, we will board the bus back to Reykjavík, arriving at the BSI bus terminal at 19:20.
