Today, you'll be following alongside the mighty Vatnajokull glacier, Europe's largest glacier. Stop at the Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon, famous for its majestic icebergs, and the nearby Diamond Beach, known for its icebergs strewn over the black sand coastline. Start your day by exploring the area around Vik. Walk on the Reynisfjara black sand beach, view the powerful waves and spectacular basalt columns, and see the rock formations that legends say were once giant trolls. Drive onwards to Dyrholaey promontory, home to thousands of seabirds including puffins. Continue along the coast, viewing the towering Eyjafjallajokull and Hekla volcanoes and the spectacular Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls. Drive back to Keflavik International Airport for your departure. If you have some free time, consider visiting the Blue Lagoon en route to the airport. Return your rental car at the airport service area and take a shuttle to the departure hall. We recommend leaving your hotel in Reykjavik at least 3 hours before your flight departure.
