Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to relax in hot springs, hike through stunning rhyolite areas, and marvel at majestic waterfalls. Your accommodation for three nights will be a cozy cabin in Landmannahellir (or similar), nestled in the heart of the highlands. This tour is a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and natural beauty, offering an unforgettable Icelandic experience.

Day 1 – Day 1: Reykjavík - Hveragerði - Selfoss - Landmannahellir

We set off from Reykjavík, heading eastward through the captivating mountains along Highway 1. We pass through the charming towns of Hveragerði and Selfoss, before venturing into the breathtaking highlands. A scenic hike leads us to the magnificent Rauðufossar, where we explore their origins and immerse ourselves in their natural beauty. Our day ends at our cozy cabin in Landmannahellir, where we'll spend the next three nights. Active walking: 10 km, 3-4 hrs.
Day 2 – Day 2: Landmannahellir - Landmannalaugar - Landmannahellir

We start the day with a short drive to Landmannalaugar, a geological wonderland. Here, we embark on an adventurous hike through the largest and most stunning rhyolite area in the country. Our trail takes us through Blágil, up Brennisteinsöldu, down Votugil, and through Laugahraun, showcasing the mesmerizing landscape. After our hike, we indulge in a relaxing soak in a hot bath in the river, savoring an ice-cold drink. We then return to our cabin in Landmannahellir. Active walking: 10-15 km 6-7 hrs.
Day 3 – Day 3: Landmannahellir - Mount Löðmund - Landmannahellir

Today is dedicated to an exhilarating mountain climbing experience. We set out from the cabin, hiking up to the summit of Mount Löðmund, the highest peak in the Fjallabak region. The summit offers a mesmerizing panoramic view of the southern part of the country in all directions. As we descend, we take a refreshing dip in Löðmundarvatn (Löðmund Lake), adding to the adventure. Active walking: 5 hrs.

Today marks our return journey. We pack up and begin our hike from the cabin, heading towards Sigalda. Here, we embark on a memorable hike, exploring the awe-inspiring Sigöldugljúfur canyon. After about an hour of hiking, we continue our journey, admiring the majestic waterfalls Háifoss and Granni. If time allows, we also make a stop at Gjáin before returning to Reykjavik in late afternoon. Active walking: 2-3 hrs.
