Hiking & Island Hopping - Cork & Kerry

We kick off our journey in the vibrant city of Cork, heading towards the historical fishing town of Baltimore. En route, we'll enjoy a refreshing hike, soaking in the rich heritage and colourful charm of the town. The day concludes with a leisurely stroll along the shore, offering breathtaking views of Carbery's 100 Isles scattered across Roaring Water Bay.

Day two takes us to Cape Clear, Ireland's southernmost inhabited island. We'll hike across the island, exploring its ancient sites, observing the rich birdlife, and possibly visiting a local goat herd. The day offers stunning views of the iconic Fastnet Rock Lighthouse.

On day three, we head north to the lush landscapes of Kenmare. We'll hike along sections of the Sheep's Head Way, taking in the breathtaking views of the headland. The day also includes a must-try local cheese tasting experience.

Day four takes us to the iconic Skellig Islands. We'll explore Skellig Michael, a UNESCO site, where ancient monks once lived. The island is also home to a large colony of gannets and has been a filming location for Star Wars movies.

Leaving the coast behind, we spend day five hiking part of the iconic Kerry Way trail. The trail offers splendid views across Kenmare Bay and the majestic mountain range, the MacGuillycuddy's Reeks. The day ends at the lush green oak woods on the outskirts of Killarney National Park.

On our final hike, we explore the Great Blasket, the largest of the Blasket Islands. The island is home to a myriad of seabirds, and whales, dolphins, and seals are regular visitors. The day concludes in Dingle town, a hub of traditional Irish music, where we'll enjoy some local 'craic agus ceoil'.

After a relaxing breakfast, we explore the vibrant town of Dingle, known for its quaint streets and local artists. We then bid farewell to our fellow travellers at Limerick Railway Station, marking the end of our unforgettable Irish journey.
