Begin your journey at Marlay Park in South Dublin, the traditional start of the Wicklow way. As you walk south from the park, ascend the Dublin hills and enjoy the stunning vista of Dublin city and bay. Pass by the Fairy Castle and Tibradden, and follow the trail along the historic military road. As you leave Dublin and enter Wicklow, the scenery transforms, revealing the beautiful coastline and hills of Wicklow. Your first day concludes in the charming village of Coolakay, where you'll rest for the night.

After a hearty breakfast in Coolakay, continue your journey towards Crone Wood and the Powerscourt waterfall. The trail will lead you through the Dargle Glen and onto the side of Djouce. Here, you'll find a monument dedicated to JB Malone, the pioneer of this trail. Take a moment to enjoy the breathtaking vistas of the valley and Lough Tay. Your day ends in the quaint village of Old Bridge, where you'll rest for the night.
