Embark on a morning walk around the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Castel del Monte, followed by a lunch of local produce at the organic farm, Masseria Sei Carri. Spend the morning exploring the Sassi neighborhood of Matera, a place that has been continuously inhabited for 5000 years. In the afternoon, embark on a walk through the deep gorge carved by the Gravina River and visit some ancient rock churches. If the path down into the gorge is closed, an alternative walk around the Belvedere di Timeo will be arranged, offering spectacular views of Matera.
