Bicycling Sardinia - Alghero to Cagliari

Welcome to Alghero, a charming city with Catalan roots. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to our seaside hotel, just a short walk from the historic town center. After settling in, we'll fit your bicycles and suggest a leisurely test ride. The day concludes with a special welcome dinner.

Today, we'll cycle along the coast towards Bosa. Enjoy the breathtaking views as you ride between the sea and mountains. Upon reaching Bosa, take some time to explore this fascinating town before indulging in a local lunch. The day ends with a scenic ride through coastal vineyards and traditional villages.

Our journey continues inland to the towns of Flussio and Tinnura, known for their handmade baskets and murals respectively. We'll then head to Cuglieri, a village with a rich olive oil production history. After a fun descent to a beautiful beach for a swim and lunch, we'll enjoy a flat ride to our hotel.

Today is a day of leisure. You can choose to relax or join an optional ride to the ancient ruins of Tharros. Enjoy a swim at the beach or cycle to the nearby bays and beaches. Don't miss the chance to try the local 'bottarga' made from fish roe.

Today, we delve into the heart of Sardinia, following the Tirso River to Fordongianus and Samugheo, known for its white woolen rugs. After lunch, we'll continue to Atzara and Sorgono, before reaching our destination, Tonara, famous for its honey and nougat.

We start the day with a downhill ride before climbing to the friendly town of Gavoi. After lunch in Mamoiada, we'll visit the traditional mask museum before continuing through Orgosolo, Sardinia's historic 'bandit' region. Our day ends at a serene mountain hotel under the Supramonte mountain.

Today, we'll take a break from cycling to hike to the ruins of the ancient Nuragic civilization. After exploring these intriguing sites, we'll enjoy a barbecue in the mountains with local shepherds. The rest of the day is yours to relax by the hotel pool before dinner.

Prepare for a thrilling ride as we cycle through some of the most spectacular limestone mountains in the Mediterranean. We'll stop in Dorgali to admire local crafts before a scenic climb to the top of the pass. From there, it's a downhill ride to Arbatax, our home for the night.

Today's ride takes us through the villages of Tertenia, Villaputzu, and Muravera. Enjoy the bucolic scenery and views of the Tyrrhenian Sea as we cycle through the valley separating us from the sea.

We cycle to the south coast of Sardinia, near the famous beaches of Cagliari. We recommend a stop in Villasimius for a cappuccino and a walk on the famous Poetto beach. We'll then pedal into Cagliari, where we'll spend our final evening and enjoy a farewell dinner.
