Capri Coast to Coast: Boat Tour with OPTIONAL Blue Grotto

Great experience - but make sure to pay attention to what you are getting. We paid for the Capri Island boat tour, but with Blue Grotto option. We were told the grotto was closed earlier in the day due to the tide, so we didn't get our hopes up. The island boat tour was fun and a great amount of time sightseeing. Afterwards, we were told to get in a separate line with a separate, smaller boat that took us to the entrance of the grotto. It was the height of summer, so we expected that it would be a long wait. Our smaller boat driver told us it'd be about 2 hours - ended up being 3 hours from when entered the boat to when we exited back to the island. No restrooms, choppy waters, but our small boat driver was amazing. He played music, gave us another small tour of the island, and was overall great entertainment. The grotto is beautiful and definitely a once in a lifetime experience, just prepare for a long time on the boat if doing the grotto!

This boat tour was the perfect way to begin our stay on Capri. It provided us with a beautiful perspective of the island and helped us map out the places we wanted to see. It was hard to hear the guide at times, but that really didn't even matter, when the views were so stunning. It was a wonderful experience that I would recommend to others.

Easy to book. Easy to find the shore office and redeem the ticket. Excellent boarding process. Great Captain. The information was given in 2 languages. Humor was involved! Even on a choppy sea day, he accurately told us what to expect and was mindful of our comfort. Very clean boat and friendly staff. The tide was too high to enter the Blue Grotto.

A very enjoyable boat ride. Due to rougher waters we were not able to circle the whole island but saw all the interesting landmarks possible and the scenery from the sea was amazing.

What a fun group we had on our sunset cruise!! Our captain was super fun, informative of the island, and kept us safe!! A must do one Positano!!

The boat trip around Capri Island was quite enjoyable. The 72 degree F weather and clear blue sky also helped. The wait to get into the Blue Grotto was an hour. The big boat that took us around the island could not wait for that long and passed by the Blue Grotto. Once we got back on shore, we were instructed to use our ticket stubs to get on a smaller motor boat that would take us straight back to the Blue Grotto. We decided to have lunch at one of the seaside restaurants before getting on the motor boat. After a delicious lunch on wine, salad and pizza, we got back to the Blue Grotto, waited and an hour for the small rowboat and finally visited the natural wonder which is not seen in any of the 30+ countries that I have visited so far on my life. After we got back from the Blue Grotto, we bought tickets for the tram/funicular and went to the top of the mountain to take in the beautiful of the harbor and the ocean from above. We then walked down the mountain by way of Via Cristoforo Colombo which is a 10 feet wide paved walking path with some occasional steps. The path passed by many beautiful houses and their private gardens, which made our trip even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a great experience for us.

Fun and informative way to see the island. The tour guide was really knowledgeable and shared lots of facts about the island. There are some great photo ops and it's a good chance to see the sights. We didn't opt for the Blue Grotto trip so it lasted one hour, which was the perfect length.

Comfy boat, a little too crowded, but thats Capri!

As usual for Capri, we did not make it to the blue grotto. 2 1/2 hour wait, not for me!

The tour was good! We sat inside the boat and couldn’t hear the guide, so moved outside of the boat. The blue grotto was extremely busy although we booked the early 9:30am tour,, so we didn’t get to go inside. Capri is beautiful!
