Cultural, Culinary & Olive Harvest Experience in Abruzzo

Your Italian adventure begins with a pick-up from Rome Fiumicino airport at 2:30 pm. We'll journey through the stunning Abruzzo mountains, taking in breathtaking landscapes, hilltop villages, and castles. Our destination is the ancient Roman town of Vasto on the Adriatic Coast. Upon arrival, check into the charming Hotel dei 7 (or similar) located in the historical downtown. After settling in, meet your guide and learn more about the exciting week ahead. The day concludes with a welcome group dinner at a traditional restaurant in the heart of Vasto.

Start your day with a visit to an award-winning Olive Grove, where you'll learn about the production of DOP olive oils. After a traditional picnic lunch in the olive grove, we'll visit the olive oil mill to learn about the transformation process from olives to extra virgin olive oil. In the afternoon, we'll explore Vasto's historic center, including Loggia Amblingh, the medieval Castle, and Piazza Rossetti. We'll also meet some local artisans before enjoying a group dinner in a traditional restaurant.

After breakfast, we'll visit Vasto's colorful market to pick up fresh, seasonal products. Next, we'll drive to the beautiful countryside for an exclusive cooking class with Fabrizio's family. After enjoying the dishes we've prepared for lunch, we'll explore the Abruzzo coastline and take a short walk inside Punta Aderci Nature Reserve. The evening is yours to explore Vasto's many restaurants.

We'll start the day with a drive to the hilltop village of Lentella, where we'll visit Ettore's 'Fattoria d'Arte' (Art Farm). Here, you'll have the opportunity to create your own postcard using natural colors. After an aperitif and traditional lunch with Ettore and his wife Barbara, the afternoon is yours to explore Vasto at your own pace.

Today, we'll visit a farmhouse where you'll have the chance to immerse yourself in an authentic slow food experience. After a traditional farm-to-table lunch, we'll drive to the charming village of Roccascalegna, known for its enchanting castle. The evening is yours to enjoy a dinner or aperitif in one of Vasto's many restaurants and wine bars.

After breakfast, we'll drive along the famous Trabocchi coast and visit a trabocco, a unique fishing platform. Weather permitting, you'll learn how to fish from it. Next, we'll visit an award-winning winery for a wine tasting and lunch. The afternoon is yours to relax or do some last-minute shopping. In the evening, we'll have a farewell party with Fabrizio's family, where you'll enjoy Abruzzo wines and food.

After breakfast, we'll depart for Rome Fiumicino airport or your next destination. Please ensure to book an afternoon flight as the drive from Vasto to Rome Fiumicino is approximately 3.5 hours.
