Grand Cycling Tour of Sicily

Welcome to Siracusa, a city brimming with ancient Greek history. Start your journey by exploring the largest Greek theater from the 5th Century BC. Later, settle into our hotel located in the heart of Ortigia, the historical center of Siracusa. Take a test ride around the city before joining us for a special welcome dinner. Accommodation for the night will be at Palazzo Salomone (or similar).

Kickstart your day with a scenic ride through small beach and fishing towns, passing by an abandoned tuna canning factory. The route leads us to Noto, a striking white town rebuilt in grand baroque style after the 1693 earthquake. Enjoy a leisurely walk in Noto before heading to our charming farmhouse accommodation, complete with a swimming pool and beautiful grounds.

Pack your swimsuit for today's ride as we head to the charming fishing village of Marzamemi. From here, you can opt to continue your ride along a serene coastal road to Capo Passero, the furthest southeastern point in Sicily. In the evening, we'll indulge in a wine tasting session before enjoying a group dinner.

Today's ride takes us through olive and almond groves to the interior of the island. After an impressive climb, reward yourself with a poolside lunch before continuing to Noto Antica. Here, explore the expansive ruins of the old city destroyed in the 1693 earthquake. Our accommodation for the night is a tranquil country lodge nestled in the hills.

Pedal west through country roads to reach Ragusa, a city rebuilt in the 17th century after a massive earthquake. Visit an olive oil press to learn about local farming and olive oil production. Explore the unique blend of new and ancient town structures in Ragusa before calling it a day.

Today, we pedal through the timeless landscape of southeast Sicily towards the famous archaeological sites of Cava d'Ispica. After a picnic lunch near a unique water mill, continue on to the delightful town of Scicli, the set for the TV film series Inspector Montalbano. Accommodation for the night will be at Palazzo Conti (or similar).

Today, we embark on two loop rides to nearby Modica and Donnalucata. Explore Modica, a town known for its unique Aztec chocolate recipe, and Donnalucata, a site of historical battles and invasions. Enjoy a special visit and tasting at the Bonajuto chocolate shop in Modica. Accommodation for the night will be at Palazzo Conti (or similar).

Today, we explore Agrigento, home to one of the finest collections of ancient Greek temples in the Mediterranean basin. We'll take a guided visit to the Valle dei Templi, where the setting sun turns the limestone columns a golden color. We'll wrap up the day with a group dinner.

Embark on a delightful ride through wheat fields and vineyards towards the village of Cattolica Eraclea. As you approach Ribera, the sweet scent of oranges will signal your arrival in this town famed for its orange and olive groves. Our destination today is the enchanting town of Sciacca.

Today's ride offers a challenging yet rewarding journey to Caltabellotta, a hilltop village offering panoramic views. After a lunch of Sicilian specialties, continue your ride through aromatic citrus and olive groves. Relax at our elegant lodge tonight, taking a dip in the swimming pool and enjoying the spectacular views.

Ride to Selinunte, where we'll explore some of the most spectacular ruins in Sicily. Take an optional ride to the beach at Porto Palo for a refreshing swim. In the evening, we'll visit a local winery for a special dinner, wine tasting, and tour.

Today's ride offers stunning views of typical Sicilian landscapes, featuring rolling hills covered in vineyards. Stop at Castelvetrano to admire its beautiful square. Next, explore Mazara del Vallo, home to one of Italy's largest fishing ports, before riding back along the shore to Marsala. In the afternoon, we'll sample the famous Marsala wines.

Ride west today, partially along the coast and then up to the hilltop village of Erice, an important medieval fortress. The end of the bike ride takes you to the coastal town of Trapani, where we'll celebrate our journey with a dinner together.

Spend your last day exploring Trapani, a city rich in history due to its strategic position. If you have a few extra days, we recommend a boat excursion to the nearby island of Favignana. We hope you enjoyed this journey and look forward to seeing you again soon!
