Welcome to Reschen, a charming town nestled in the heart of South Tyrol. Settle into your accommodation and spend the rest of the day at leisure, exploring the town's quaint streets and stunning landscapes.
Day 2 – Day 2: Reschen to Burgeis via Graun and Planeil
Day 2: Reschen to Burgeis via Graun and Planeil
Begin your day with a stroll along the Reschensee reservoir, heading towards the village of Graun. Capture the iconic image of the flooded spire of Gaun before continuing your journey past Lake Haidersee and up to the mountain village of Planeil. Descend through forests and flowering meadows to Burgeis, where the impressive Monastery of Marienberg awaits.
Day 3 – Day 3: Burgeis to Schluderns via Mals
Day 3: Burgeis to Schluderns via Mals
Embark on a walk along the Sonnensteig path, offering fantastic views of the snowy mountain peaks. Continue your journey to the town of Mals and then to the Tartscher Bichl, passing by 'Ganglegg', an archaeological site from the Bronze and Iron Age. End your day in Schluderns, home to one of the most impressive and best-preserved castles in South Tyrol.

Start your day at the foot of Sonnberg and continue your journey through dense forests. Above Laas, a town well known for its white marble, you'll reach the orchards of Vinschgau – a sea of apple trees stretching as far as the eye can see.

Today, pass through the orchard of the Vinschgau. Along the Latschander Waal path, walk through regions of the best South Tyrolean wines. Continue on the archaeological path which almost takes you to Messners castle 'Juval', high above the valley. On a meandering trail downhill, you reach Naturns.

Continue your journey high up, following the Rablander Waal path through forests, past Alpine mountain farms with stunning views of the Vinschgau valley. Follow the Partschinser and Algunder Waal path down into the Meraner basin. Relax your tired muscles in the thermal spa.

On the Marlinger Waal path, the longest Waal of South Tyrol, walk into the apple centre Lana. Enjoy lovely views on Meran and the Adige valley to Bolzano. Pass through light forests up to Tisens, well known for the sweet chestnuts. During the second half of this path, pass many ancient fortresses: Nals with Stachelburg, Schwanburg and Payrsberg castle.

Day 8: Tisens to Kalterer
Walk past castles, raised stands and fortresses with great views of the Etschtal Valley and the surrounding mountain ranges. A section of the path takes you along the 'Three-Fortress-Route' and continue via St. Michael through extensive vineyards until you reach the beautiful lake Kalterer See. In this beautiful valley, taste a glass of 'Kalterer See'.
