During the trip selected 2 to 4* star hotels are used in the larger towns, while in the villages and countryside we use cosy, friendly ‘agriturismo’ (farmhouses) and inns, some which are quite renowned for their cuisine. In all the accommodation the rooms have private bathrooms and a good Italian breakfast is included each morning. Throughout the trip there are plenty of opportunities to taste both the outstanding local cuisine and a wide array of prestigious regional wines.

Arrive in the enchanting city of Alba, the heart of Piedmont wine country. Known for its medieval towers and rich culinary heritage, Alba is a treasure trove of flavors and aromas. After checking into your hotel (or similar), take a leisurely stroll through the town, perhaps stopping at one of its many pastry shops to indulge in the region's sweet delights.

Begin your day with a transfer to Roddi, where your walking adventure starts. Traverse picturesque hills to reach the charming hilltop village of La Morra. Along the way, enjoy various wine tasting opportunities and, on clear days, marvel at the sight of the Alps and Mt Monviso. In La Morra, visit the Ratti Museum to delve into the history and art of wine, and stop by Cantina Comunale for a wide selection of wines and gastronomic videos. Continue your journey to the hamlet of Vergne or the village of Barolo, depending on hotel availability.

Today's walk takes you from Vergne to Monforte d'Alba, passing through the historic village of Novello with its medieval tower and the renowned wine capital, Barolo. Spend time exploring the WiMu Wine Museum in the Castello dei Marchesi Faletti and enjoy lunch at a local trattoria. Continue through vineyards and forests to reach Monforte d'Alba, a delightful hilltop village where you will stay overnight.

Today's landscape is more varied as you leave the vineyards behind. Ascend through neat hazelnut forests and wild woods to the ancient hamlet of Serralunga d'Alba. A steep climb brings you to Roddino, followed by a long descent and a final climb to Cissone, where you will stay overnight.

Today, you have the option to relax in the village center and savor local wines from a traditional cantina or embark on a short circular walk around Cissone. Enjoy the splendid views from the farms, with scenery adorned with vineyards, towers, and castles. Overnight in Cissone.
Day 6 – Day 6: Cissone to Cravanzana
Day 6: Cissone to Cravanzana
Walk through the spectacular high Langhe area, characterized by hazelnut forests and oak trees. This region is home to the prized 'Tuber Magnatum,' or 'white truffle of Alba.' If you don't find any truffles underground, you can certainly enjoy them in a local restaurant. Overnight in Cravanzana.

Today's walk is varied, taking you through hazelnut plantations and dense chestnut woods. Visit the villages of Torre Bormida and Bergolo, walking on broad forest paths, grassy trails, and narrow cobbled streets until you reach the town of Cortemilia. Overnight in Cortemilia.

Your journey concludes this morning in Cortemilia after breakfast. We can assist with a private transfer to Alba station or Turin airport upon request. Please note that buses do not operate from Cortemilia on Sundays, so a private transfer is required.
