Sadly, the weather was too windy and waves too choppy for us to take this excursion, but Pasquale was very professional about it. He communicated early to see about other dates and checked in regularly on the scheduled day. Cancelation was the right decision (the ferries weren't even running) and Pasquale immediately arranged a refund.
These things happen on excursions and the best demonstrate their integrity when things get tricky.

A nice short tour, it starts off going around Strombolicchio, the small islet with the lighthouse, and then off around Stromboli to the viewing point. It was a memorable experience seeing many eruptions and lava on the mountain, and as a bonus you see a lovely sunset and star-filled night sky due to the lack of light pollution on that side of the island. The boat was simple but comfortable, a nimble zodiac with an experienced pilot.

This was great! Picked up at dock immediately after all the other people piled onto large boats - quiet fast boat without drama of larger group - beautiful quiet evening punctuated by volcanic activity - heartily recommend!

Pasqualo and his team are absolutely amazing! So helpful and reliable. Our tour to the Sciara was absolutely the highlight of our holiday and I cannot recommend it enough. Sitting there in the little boat under the cover of darkness watching the eruptions was just the chance of a lifetime and one of the best nights of my life! We will definitely use Pasqualo again should we return to Stromboli. He is such a sweetheart! Thank you Pasqualo!

We were offered an extension to the 2 hour tour we had booked to Ginostra for free, which was very generous and beautiful. Pasquale is super friendly and happy to chat if you speak Italian! The tour itself was simple and as we expected it, Pasquale drove us to a few viewing spots and we felt very well taken care of. Definitely a recommenation!

Our guide Fabio was great! He paced the group well, was informative and inclusive (spoke in both English/Italian). Unfortunately the clouds sat too low and the volcano wasn’t cooperative! Suggestion for the tour operators: be more punctual or at least post a sign of what to expect! 5:00 start time indicated gather at 4:45 - we stood around worried that we were in the wrong place for 1/2 hour… when the operator arrived, we were given helmets and a headlight - completed the paperwork and then waited around even more!! After inquiring we were told we were waiting for another group! More communication and a punctual start time would have negated confusion.

This boat trip is on an inflatable rib boat.
Boarding was interesting and the number of people in the boat totalled 11..... all footwear had to be removed before boarding.
The journey was fast, ex Royal Marines would be at home.
The sight of the small erupting vents, from the sea was AMAZING, and although Pasquell didn't speak much English the view was superb.
Would recommend but be aware of the above.

It's definitely worth the trip: we were lucky enough to see 3 "blows" 8n about 40 minutes. However the trip on TripAdvisor was quite overpriced compared to what is offered by local kiosks on the main street which charge the same trip in the range of 20€
