Semi Private Deep Wine Chianti and San Gimignano from Florence

Great day! Andrea was very professional yet personable. Arrived on time. The wineries we went to were beautiful and the representatives were great and very friendly and knowledgeable. Lunch was delicious. As was all the food. Can’t say enough about the tour!

We had a wonderful time on the tour! The countryside was beautiful, and all of our stops were enjoyable. Our tour guide, Andrea, was fantastic—friendly, accommodating, and full of interesting facts about Florence and the area. We highly recommend this tour!

Andrea was terrific, from the time he picked us up till he dropped us off, he felt like an old friend. He was with us when he needed to be giving us insight about Rome and Tuscany and left us alone to explore and enjoy ourselves, this was truly one of the best tours ever and worth every dollar, Thank you Andrea you left us with a day of wonderful memories.

It was a rainy day so we were not sure the tour would be on go. But Sara picked us up – we were the only couple so we had her all to ourselves. It wasn’t a hard rain,—just a drizzle so being in the car all day and inside the wineries worked out perfectly. It was a beautiful ride through the hills of Tuscany-just like all the postcards with the Cypress trees and the vineyards. Sarah was a wealth of knowledge and so much fun to be with. This was one of our favorite days in the Florence area. We sampled nine wines, had a full Tuscan meal, and lots of appetizers. We learned so much and had a great day!

The other guests cancelled so we essential had a private tour around Tuscany with our fantastic guide Alberto.

He started by driving us to Piazzale Michelangelo for stunning panoramic views of Florence shorty after sunrise, we arrived before any tour groups and had the entire Piazzale to ourselves.

From there we traveled to San Gimignano. Alberto dropped us off on one side of the town and we were able to stroll through the entire town over the course of the next 2 hours with time for shopping, a cafe stop, and gelato at a world champion Gelateria. San Gimignano was absolutely beautiful and loved seeing the walled town and its towers.

The first winery we visited was Castello Monterinaldi. The estate was absolutely beautiful and evoked the image we all think of when we picture Chianti in our heads. Lunch was served in the beautiful old estate home. We had meats cheeses, pasta, and pork all with really good wine pairings. Their olive oil and balsamic were both very good.

We then drove to San Michela a Torri for our 2nd winery. The wine was fantastic and our host walked us through a tasting that stressed letting us work through what we were experiencing with each glass, and in this way learning through the process. The wine was very good and we ordered a case to be shipped home from each winery.

My wife and I cannot speak highly enough of Alberto. He was extremely engaging the entirety of the day. Taught us a ton about the history of the Chianti area and gave us tips for our day as well as tips for great things to do during our stay in Florence as well as our next few stops on the trip. He was as easy to talk to as an old friend and we hope that we are lucky enough to meet him again some day.

Everything from the meeting was better than expected. Tour guide Sara was lovely & had a good sense of humour. Loved our free time in San Gimignano and gelato recommendation. The countryside was spectacular and the organised lunch and tastings perfect.

Will do it again next time I’m in Florence

We had a great time on our tour of the Chianti region and visit to San Gimigiano. Alberto was an amazing guide! He was very knowledgeable about the region and its history and made our experience quite special. We really enjoyed the delicious Chianti wines and the hospitality at the two beautiful vineyards. Also, San Gimigiano was an unexpected treat - a medieval town with picture perfect views. I highly recommend this tour!
