TREASURES OF SICILY: a Weeklong Adventure

Welcome to Palermo, the vibrant capital of Sicily. After meeting your tour leader and fellow travelers, we'll embark on a walking tour of the city. We'll explore the bustling markets of La Vucciria and Ballarò, admire the architectural beauty of Quattro Canti, visit the grand Cathedral, and stroll around Pretoria Square. The day concludes with a welcome dinner at a local restaurant, where you'll get to know your travel companions better.

Today is all about relaxation as we head to the beautiful seaside resort of Mondello. Just a short bus ride from Palermo, Mondello boasts a stunning beach and turquoise sea. Spend the day sunbathing, swimming, or trying local street food from the stalls along the beach. In the afternoon, we'll return to Palermo.

Today we venture to the charming town of Cefalù, a major tourist attraction known for its long sandy beach and impressive cathedral. After a guided walk through the town's narrow alleyways, you'll have free time to explore or relax on the beach. We'll return to Palermo in the evening.

Bid farewell to Palermo as we journey to our next destination, Catania. Upon arrival, we'll embark on a walking tour of the city, visiting the Piazza del Duomo, the Fontana dell'Elefante statue, the Catania Cathedral, and the bustling Pescheria fish market. The day concludes with a traditional dinner at a local restaurant.

We start early today to explore the ancient city of Siracusa, known for its rich Greek history and culture. After a guided walk through the historical centre and the islet of Ortigia, we'll head to Noto, a town famous for its 18th-century baroque buildings. We'll return to Catania in the evening.

Today's adventure takes us to Europe's highest active volcano, Mount Etna. With our expert guide, we'll trek through ancient woods, eccentric craters, and unique lava formations. In the afternoon, we'll visit the hilltop town of Taormina, known for its ancient Greco-Roman theatre and the beautiful Isola Bella island. We'll return to Catania in the evening.

Your final day is at leisure. You can choose to explore more of Catania, or head to the nearest sandy beach to relax and soak up the Sicilian sun. Check-out from the accommodation is at 10am, but you're welcome to store your bags and spend more time in the city.
