Day 1 – Day 1: Arrival in Tropea

Upon your arrival at Lamezia Terme airport, our local representative will welcome you and arrange a comfortable transfer to your hotel in Tropea. You can also opt for a private transfer. Your first night in Italy will be spent at the Hotel Tropis (or similar), where a delicious dinner awaits you.

After breakfast, we'll head to the city of Pizzo. Here, you'll explore the historic Castle where Joaquim Murat met his end and visit the unique Church of Piedigrotta, carved into the sea cliffs. After some free time for lunch, we'll return to Tropea to visit the 12th-century Romanesque Cathedral and the historic center with its panoramic balconies. Optionally, you can also visit the Church of Santa Maria dell'Isola. The day concludes with dinner and an overnight stay at the Hotel Tropis (or similar).

Day 3 begins with a trip to Scilla, where you'll explore Chianalea, an old fishermen's village, and visit the Ruffo Castle and the Church of San Rocco. We then continue to Reggio Calabria, the former regional capital. After some free time for lunch, you'll explore the city and visit the National Museum of Magna Grecia, home to the renowned Riace Bronzes. You'll also explore the Roman Baths, Greek Fortifications, and the Cathedral. The day ends with a return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay at the Hotel Continental (or similar).

Day 4 takes us to Gerace, known as the city of the Hundred Churches. Here, you'll explore the medieval village and marvel at some of the oldest churches and the renowned Romanesque Cathedral, the largest in Southern Italy. After lunch, we'll continue to Stilo, the birthplace of the famous philosopher Tommaso Campanella. Here, you'll visit the remarkable Cattolica monument, an icon of late Byzantine art unique in Western Europe. The day concludes with a journey towards the Catanzaro area for dinner and an overnight stay at the Grand Hotel Paradiso (or similar).

Day 5 takes you to the picturesque Sila Mountains, the green heart of Calabria and Southern Italy. Here, you'll enjoy breathtaking mountain landscapes surrounded by unspoiled nature. We'll pause in the charming town of Camigliatello Silano, where you can stroll along the main street or purchase typical local products. Afterward, we'll depart for Cosenza, where you'll enjoy lunch at a farmhouse, savoring the authentic flavors of Calabrian cuisine. Day 6 begins with a tour of the historic center of Cosenza, starting at Piazza Prefettura where you'll admire the Rendano Theatre and the imposing Castello Svevo. You'll then walk through Corso Telesio to the 1100-year-old Cathedral and then take a bus to Corso Mazzini, home to the unique MAB (Bilotti Open-Air Museum). After some free time for shopping, lunch, or delicious ice cream, we'll head to Paola to visit the sanctuary of San Francisco de Paola. Day 7 starts with a visit to the Archaeological Park of Sybaris and the National Archeological Museum of Sibaritide. We then head to Rossano Scalo to visit the Amarelli Museum and sample specialties from the Amarelli family. After lunch, we'll transfer to Rossano Calabro for a brief visit to the Rossano Cathedral and the Diocesan Museum, housing the unique Codex Purpureus Rossanensis, a UNESCO heritage. The day concludes with a guided tour of Altomonte, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, before returning to Cosenza for dinner and an overnight stay at the Italiana Hotels Cosenza (or similar).
