Scenic Danube River bend hills & the Art Town: Private Car Tour

The guide was knowligable on Hungarian history, entertaing with his stories. Despite of unpleasant weather he managed to create exiting trip. Last but not least his passion for retro cars and driving us in one of them to historic places definitely spiced our experience.

Our trip with Balazs was excellent. He has such a passion for his country. He has a great knowledge of the history of Budapest, which we learned so much from him. We loved going to the hills for a photo, the drive was spectacular. The visit to the art town was much more than we expected, we were able to walk through the town and visit some of the churches. I would recommend Balazs for to only this tour, but many other tours. The passion he brings to the tour is contagious.

Balazs is an excellent guide, with great historical and cultural narratives, and personal experiences to share. We were a family of 6, and the tour was customized to our interests as the morning progressed. We had a great conversation to fill in the gaps in our understanding of the history and current culture of Hungary. A very enjoyable trip. Our tour was in a Mercedes sprinter van, the next time we’ll try one of his restored cars.

Our tour was with Balazs and was absolutely terrific. We were picked up in a classic car which was a treat. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. I’ve taken many tours in different countries but this might be the best of all. Thanks for the wonderful day!

What a wonderful day we had with Balazs !! He was a wonderful tour guide and helped me surprise my husband on his birthday with bringing his beautiful restored Volvo car to drive us for the day! My husband was so happy and loved every minute of the day ! I would highly recommend booking with Balazs you will be happy you did, he made our last day in the city one we will always remember! He even stopped and bought strawberries at a road side market and flowers for his Mom! He was very personable and enjoyable to sight see with! Thank you for a wonderful time!

So extremely happy we booked this tour and would most definitely book another one with Balazs (our guide). The classic car, 1957 Opel, was truly luxury and a joy to ride in. Our guide, Balazs Ackermann was amazing, so informative and a pleasure to have spent the day with. The village we visited was quaint and the food Balazs recommended was delicious!

Best thing about this trip was the car - a plum colored 1957 Opel Reckard - and its driver - a mechanical engineer who is also a vintage car enthusiast and restoration expert. Not only did he show us Danube River Bend but also took us around the quirky town of Szentendre, home to local artists and a thriving community. Balascz said he owned 10 classic cars in his garage, some of which are driven on tours. This is a half-day tour and not too far outside town. Would have liked to go up the castle, but we only drove by as we were short of time.

Attila was a great guide and went above and beyond what was expected. He found a place with authentic Hungarian food where I had pork goulash, a kind that my grandmother was making when I was young! The place did not have it on the menu but instead offered to prepare it for us anyway! Highly recommend!
