Private Tour Mt. Etna from Taormina

Gian Franco was very knowledgeable about the science of Mt Etna and had wonderful explanations. He had hardhats with lights plus flashlights and lead us through two lava tubes. He was very thoughtful, considerate, patient and helpful. Great guide!

This trip was definitely one of the highlights of our entire Sicily visit. Rosario picked the six of us up in his perfect van. He was funny and entertaining right from the start. As a past geology major, we knew we had the best person to take us to Mount Etna. He was so knowledgeable about the mountain and we learned to treat it with reverence and respect as Sicilians do. We actually booked him another day to take us to a private winery so we really had a great experience with him. His English is wonderful and I can’t say enough about this young company who is doing everything right.

We had a lovely day on this private tour of mount etna. Booked a private tour to get away from the organised coach trips and this really delivered. Gianfranco was really knowledgeable and great company, taking us to places the coaches don’t go. Fabulous views of mount etna, the craters and the lava tunnels, thoroughly recommend

After researching many Mt Etna tours, we finally found the perfect one for us! We are a tight knit group of 3 couples, and didn’t want to be in the typical large tour group. This gave us total customization of our experience, from being picked up at our Air B&B (not meeting up at a different location) in a comfortable and clean touring van to being able to add on a wonderful lunch and wine tasting to end our great day together. The best part was our guide, Rosario, who has a degree in geology along with a relaxed way and great sense of humor! He was just exceptional! Spoke perfect English and kept us all informed and entertained. Loved him so much we begged him to drive us to another one of our outings two days later!

Rosario, showed up promptly and welcomed each person in the group! He shared his knowledge of the area and highlighted many points of interest the moment we entered his van! His updated and depth of geological knowledge of the Mt Etna site made this tour extra special and enjoyable!

I wish I could give 10 stars! Our guide Rosario was just amazing. On time, so informative, such a good driver in crowded small streets and beyond to Mt Etna. He had a degree in geology so he was extremely knowledgable, but explained everything so it was easy to understand. His English was amazing too. Gave advice and answered all our questions about every subject. Great sense of humor too! We felt like we made a new friend. See the volcano for sure, but see it with Rosario!!!!

A visit to Mt. Etna is a must if you go to Sicily. Request Rosario to be the guide. He has a background in Geology.

This was a second tour with Sicily Legend Tours as we were so impressed with their professional but warm and friendly service we chose them again to take us to Mount Etna. This was magnificent! Made all the more enjoyable by the knowledge of our guide Gian Franco. We had a truly magical day exploring Etna and listening to facts and information about the volcano along the way.
