We had heard about the Trevi Fountain but it was more special and beautiful than we thought it would be. Wide, unusual, elegant - we were really glad we came.
We were lucky as it was late afternoon in February so it wasn’t too busy and we got to the front in a couple of minutes.
I think it might be crazy busy in peak times, so worth going early or later in the day?

In the underground portion, you learn more about ancient Roman history, and how they were able to bring water into and around the city. It also shows where the water comes from and how it provides water to Trevi Fountain. Our guide Noemi was great, very knowledgeable about the history, and very pleasant to be with. There are a few stairs, but she also takes the tour slowly so if you can do a few at a time here and there then you will be ok. Plus, the area for the tour is small, and you only go a short distance before stopping for more information, so it is not hard for people to handle if you can just do those few steps at a time. Again, hope you get Noemi because she was great!
