Wonderful tour!
We absolutely loved the medieval city of Durnstein which we visited the beginning of the trip.
The Boat trip on the Danube was exquisite. The boat has great facilities and it was a very relaxing exoerience. The food was excellent and there is a full floor on the boat that serves as a restaurant or you can eat on the upper deck where you get a better view as you pass through the various villages.
Melk Abbey was the absolute highlight of the trip. It is such an amazing place and well worth visiting! We had enough time to do some souvenir shopping and have lunch in the village outside the Abbey.
Our guide was great, though unfortunately I don’t recall his name.
All in all, it was a wonderful tour that we will forever remember fondly!

What a pleasant, informative and peaceful journey through time. Probably the best excursion I’ve bought from Viator. Absolutely grateful for the tour guide and the driver to make it a great day. Learned so much about the history of the towns and the Abby. I highly recommend this package.

This trip was a wonderful way to explore the Wachau Valley and countryside around Vienna. Our family found it an excellent use of time and money. The bus is comfortable and the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, and fluent in English, French and Spanish. We enjoyed the stop in Durnstein before boarding the boat to Melk. The Wachau Valley was beautiful in the fall with spectacular scenery around every bend. We tour enables you to take the bus up to the Monastery, making the most of your time. Very professional driver and guide - well worth it!

This trip was very fun. The boat ride on the Danube was very relaxing and the scenery was beautiful. We had stops in a couple little towns that were very cute. One note, is if you take this trip on a Saturday, most of the shops in Melk close at noon which we were not informed about. The Melk Abby was fun to see as well. Our guide in the Abby was adorable and you could tell she was very passionate about her job.

Really enjoyed this day trip. We started off by visiting the small town of Durnstein. Not much to it but we did enjoy trying (& subsequently buying!) some apricot liqueur.
We then got the bus to Spitz, where we picked up the boat for a leisurely 90 minute cruise along the Danube. Thoroughly enjoyed this section of the day as we got a couple of drinks & sat on the top deck & enjoyed the views as we sailed along.
We then arrived at Melk but we hadn't booked the Abbey tour. This meant we had a good 2 hours to relax and enjoy a nice lunch and also explore the town. We did visit the Abbey & got to see most of the outside as well as the Abbey shop where we purchased some wine!
I would definitely recommend this tour if you've got the time when visiting Vienna.

The tour was pretty well organized. There was some confusion at the Opera meeting point—it was raining and the bus arrived late. However, once we took our seats, everything went as described. Our multilingual guide, Tomy, gave the commentary in English and Spanish. The visit to Durnstein was brief (use euro coins for the bus stop WC!), but the village itself, though charming and surrounded by vineyards, is quite small. The Danube cruise from Spitz aboard the MS Durnstein was scenic and relaxing. We ate in the floating restaurant, which was affordable and pleasant. Once in Melk, we waited around in the rain for our tour of the magnificent abbey, guided by a nice young woman, who showed us some of the highlights in the museum and library. The abbey restaurant was also a welcoming spot for a break (yummy coffee & pastries). Despite the rain, the entire all-day experience was worth it, and we're glad we took time out of our stay in Vienna to see some of the Austrian countryside.

We had a great trip by bus and boat to the Wachau region of the Danube! Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. The who area was just amazing. If you would like to see the wine country, the castles, Melk, Durnstein, etc. in one day this is a great way to do that.
