3-Hours Astronomy Hiking Experience in Roque Nublo Mountains

We had a great time on the hike. The location is a fairly challenging drive if you’re used to driving on the left side of the road - the routes to the middle of the island are winding, climbing roads and other drivers don’t always give you a lot of space. But it is definitely worth it.

Pablo is really friendly and we had a good group of people - most kind of kept themselves to themselves but in an amicable way. Pablo shared so much knowledge. We learned more than I expected to about the island before we even set off!

We saw a beautiful sunset, and then set up for a picnic and waited for the sky to darken. What we saw above us was incredible, beyond my hopes and expectations and Pablo told us all sorts of tidbits about astronomical history as well as the sky that night.

I’ll treasure those memories forever and thoroughly recommend booking!

A short hike to reach a great spot to watch the scenic sunset, to have a picnic (provided by the guide) and then to learn about astronomy. Pablo was very friendly, explained information about the planets and stars in an easy but comprehensive way, and with his binoculars we could scan the sky.

The road to the meeting point has plenty of viewpoints (very curvy mountain road) so buffer in extra time to stop at those. Also, warm clothing is needed to be able to enjoy the view without shivering.

Absolutely enjoyed the tour and would do it again!

Pablo was a knowledge, friendly and caring host who walked you through a unique part of Gran Canaria. The evening felt very special looking at stars and walking in the dark through the forest.

Highly recommended! My partner and I went on the astronomy hike. It was an awesome experience! It was fascinating, and we learned a lot about the place and the mountains. The hike is not hard at all. there are well-maintained paths. It was COLD at night, so please bring something warm, plenty of water(1.5-2L) and sports shoes. It was three hours of doing something amazing, and we also got close to the group. There were five of us and Pablo, our guide. He also speaks english very well.

I have to say that Pablo thought of everything. He brought flashlights for everyone (and had extras in case of emergencies), blankets (which you'll need), mattresses, hot tea and cups for everyone, and even some really cool snacks. He brought cheese with nuts and empanadas that were out of this world. He explained about the stars, and we watched the night sky with the freshest air above us. He also mentioned it was a particularly good night for stargazing.

Pablo took his time and patiently photographed us as couples, showcasing his awesome skills.

We booked two tours with RockNatour, the astronomical hike and the kayaking tour in the Mogan caves. Both were outstanding and easily the top two highlights of our trip. Pablo is a knowledgeable, entertaining, and kind guide who made sure that our experiences, though certainly challenging, were truly flawless, right down to having some chocolate ready to close out our wonderful evening in the mountains.

I would really recommend going on this, I haven’t seen anything like this on the island, and above all Pablo is a fantastic guy - I’m sure you’ll love it!

It was absolutely stunning! We saw an amazing sunset with a view of Roque Nublo and then went to a really quiet spot to see the stars. Pablo was very nice and enthusiastic about the night sky and gave us a lot of info.

There was a lot of time to gaze at the stars and we've never seen so many! We could even see the Milky-way.

We'll never forget this trip - if you like hiking and stars, definitely don't miss out on this!

Our guide Pablo was both knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the stars, which coupled with being an excellent communicator made for an amazing and informative evening. I would recommend this trip to anyone and everyone.

The google map location was pin point accutare, but when you come down the mountain, don't use the road to Mogan, too many blind hair pin bends

This one the most special tour I did in Gran Canaria, very nice experience, well organised and meaningful for knowing about astronomy and enjoy the night in the mountains. From the sunset to the final of the activity 3 hours later, it was amazing! A tour where Pablo takes care of any detail of the experience. Thanks for all!!
