Everything was fantastic! Both our guides, in Sofia and Skopje, were excellent. The minibus was very comfortable, and the driver was exceptionally attentive, always checking on the music volume and air conditioning to ensure our comfort. He also made a convenient stop for food and a restroom break along the way. Skopje has so much to see, and we managed to cover most of the key sights during the tour. Overall, it was an amazing experience—highly recommended!

Our driver from Sofia to Skopje was very professional and experienced. Told us plenty of facts and knowledge about both Bulgaria and North Macedonia. When we arrived in Skopje our local guide was very nice and very professional. The whole trip felt very safe. I would totally recommend this trip to anyone who is in Sofia for a few days and enjoys Long Road Trips.

Our driver (Ilyam) and guide Lena were just brilliant. Both very friendly and helpful. Lena gave us lots of information about Skopje and the history of the country. We saw the old part of Skopje, the bridges, the Triumph, the North Macedonian Square and we visited Mother Teresa's museum. We had adequate time to wander around and explore the area.

The driver/guide Kaiko was an amazing person, very knowledgeable about the history and geography of the balkan region. The trip was lovely, especially the land border crossing between Macedonia and Bulgaria. Highly recommend.

Excellently planned trip from the tour providers. They were very enthusiastic about teaching us about North Macedonian history and we had a great time! It’s a shame daylight hours were so little and we did not get much F&E time.
My only slight negative was the driver who took us was driving really fast (in a very confident and generally safe way, mind) and that made me a little bit anxious.

Covering approximately approx. 250 km one way, the journey from Sofia to Skopje involves immigration clearance at both border checkpoints. Thanks to our efficient and fast driver-guide, we completed the trip in just 4 hours each way, making this long day trip manageable and worthwhile.
Skopje is a fascinating cultural melting pot, blending Macedonian, Roman, and Ottoman influences. A walking tour with a knowledgeable local guide provided an excellent orientation to the city’s key attractions, offering insights into its rich history and vibrant character.
The Old Bazaar and City Center offer a variety of excellent food options, allowing visitors to savor local flavors. The city’s transformation is evident—visible both in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake and in the modernizing efforts under the 2014 project.
One of Skopje’s defining features is its abundance of statues, starting with Alexander the Great and his family. They’re so numerous that it’s easy to lose count as you explore.
For those visiting Sofia, a day trip to Skopje is the best way to experience the charm of North Macedonia’s capital city while gaining a deeper appreciation of its cultural and historical significance.
