Warsaw to Rome Vistas (Summer, 10 Days)

Welcome aboard! Say goodbye to Warsaw as we head towards Krakow this morning. On our way, we'll visit the Auschwitz concentration camp for a poignant reminder of Europe's history. Once the capital of Poland, Krakow is now celebrated for its rich history, delicious pretzels, vibrant vintage markets, and salt mining heritage. Tonight, you'll have the opportunity to explore local restaurants for a traditional dinner, resting assured that we have a full day tomorrow to immerse ourselves in Krakow.

Good morning, Poland! Today, we dive deep into Krakow's vibrant life. Our morning includes a sightseeing tour covering the essentials, followed by a free afternoon to wander the charming streets. Explore Kazimierz, the UNESCO-listed Old Town, and the historic Jewish Quarter, adorned with street art, vintage markets, and quaint cafes. An optional Pierogi-making class will keep us entertained into the evening.

We bid farewell to Krakow and set our sights on Budapest. En route, we'll stop in the charming town of Banska Bystrica for lunch. Today, you'll have the unique opportunity to visit three countries in one day! Upon arriving in Budapest, you'll understand why we need a couple of nights here. This evening, you can join a Danube River Cruise, enjoying a delicious Hungarian feast while gliding across the shimmering night-lit river.

Ready to explore, we embark on a journey through Budapest's old and new with a locally guided walking tour. Highlights include the Royal Palace, the Chain Bridge, and the Fisherman's Bastion. This evening, take your time to explore, perhaps stopping for a drink in a ruin bar in the Jewish Quarter and keeping an eye out for a delicious Langos.

We bid adieu to Budapest and journey westward, crossing Hungary into Austria. Fans of 'The Sound of Music' will delight in visiting the historic town center, the stunning blue lake, and the iconic St. Michael's Basilica. In the Austrian Tyrol, you'll stay at Contiki Haus Schöneck (or similar), a special accommodation where you can socialize with fellow travelers and enjoy authentic Austrian cuisine. Tonight, you'll sleep in a same-sex multi-share with up to five other travelers.

Wake up to the breathtaking views of the Austrian Alps. If you're feeling energetic, join a bike tour through the green mountains and waterfalls. For the adventurous, tandem paragliding is an option. If you prefer a more relaxed pace, stroll around the stunning scenery, enjoy endless hot chocolate, take a gondola ride up a mountain, or unwind at our Gasthof.

We leave the serene Austrian Alps behind and head to the enchanting Slovenia. Lake Bled, with its fairytale medieval castle and turquoise waters, is our first stop. After a walking orientation, you're free to explore Ljubljana's bohemian art district of Metelkova Mesto or relax by one of the city's atmospheric watercourses. This evening, food enthusiasts can savor the best of the city's culinary delights.

Today, we swap the lesser-known for the globally adored Venice. This floating city, with its private boat rides, gothic architecture, and intricate web of lanes, will make you feel like you're in an Italian fairytale. Spend the day exploring and soaking in the unique charm of Venice.

We bid farewell to Venice but continue our Italian adventure in the Eternal City of Rome. The afternoon will be packed with iconic Italian sights as we explore the capital's ancient monuments, indulge in gelato, and savor delicious pizza. Get ready to experience Rome's glory by night.

Full of gelato and memories, we bid 'ciao' to Bella Roma. Although our tour ends here, the friendships and memories we've made will last a lifetime. Until our next Contiki adventure!
