Complete Portugal by Train

Today, we venture into the enchanting Douro Valley, the heart of Portugal's wine country. We'll travel by bus to Regua, where we'll admire the region's wine culture depicted in the local train station's tile work. Enjoy a traditional lunch at a local winery, followed by a serene boat ride down the Douro River. We'll return to Porto by train, soaking in the stunning views of one of Europe's most beautiful rail routes.

We leave Porto behind and head to Aveiro, often referred to as the 'Portuguese Venice'. This lagoon city is a feast for the eyes, with its colorful Moliceiro boats and Art Nouveau buildings. Enjoy a guided walking tour, a short Moliceiro boat cruise, and a tasting of the city's famous sweet treat, ovos moles. Spend the afternoon exploring at your leisure, perhaps visiting the nearby Silver Coast beaches.

Today, we embark on a scenic train ride to Lisbon, passing through the old capital, Coimbra, and crossing the impressive Ponte Vasco da Gama. Upon arrival in Lisbon, you'll have free time to explore the city at your own pace. In the evening, immerse yourself in the local culture with a live Fado show, a soulful form of folk song that originated in Lisbon.

Spend the day uncovering the treasures of Lisbon. Embark on a guided walking tour of the city center, tasting iconic delicacies along the way, including cod fritters, Ginjinha berry liqueur, and the famous pastel de nata. Later, we'll take a tram ride to Belem, home to the beloved Saint Jeronimo Monastery and Belem Tower. The evening is yours to enjoy the city's vibrant nightlife.

Today, we journey to the magical town of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site nestled amidst lush pine forests. Explore the vibrant Pena Palace and the gothic Quinta da Regaleira. Later, we'll take a bus to the charming seaside town of Azenhas do Mar for an authentic Portuguese lunch. Spend the afternoon wandering around Sintra before returning to Lisbon for a farewell dinner.
