Highlights from the Old Continent

Welcome to the start of your exciting Europamundo journey! Upon your arrival at the airport, our representative will greet you and arrange your transfer to the hotel. Once you've settled in, check the hotel's information boards for details about the welcome meeting with your guide and fellow travelers.

Kickstart your day with a city tour of Lisbon, the Portuguese capital renowned for its seven hills, charming alleys, and the unique 'saudade' atmosphere. We'll explore the Belem neighborhood, the launching point for the great Portuguese navigators of the 15th century. In the afternoon, you'll have free time to wander around the Bairro Alto and its viewpoint. Optionally, you can join an excursion to the towns of Sintra, Cascais, and Estoril. As evening falls, we'll return from the lively Restauradores Square, brimming with bars and cafes, to our hotel.

We'll depart from Portugal early in the morning, crossing the picturesque region of Alentejo. Our first stop will be Estremoz, a charming town with a medieval castle, cobblestone streets, and beautiful architecture that reflect Portuguese authenticity. We then cross into Spain and visit Cáceres, where you can enjoy lunch and a stroll through its well-preserved medieval and Renaissance historic center. Our journey continues to Madrid, where we'll arrive in the evening and head to the bustling Plaza Mayor, filled with restaurants and vibrant life.

Start your day with a comprehensive tour of Madrid, exploring the Paseo del Prado, Cibeles, Neptuno, the Gate of Alcalá, Plaza de Colón, and Plaza Mayor. We'll then visit the Retiro Park, a city oasis, where we'll see the lake and the Glass Palace. We'll also visit the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, the home of Real Madrid, one of the world's best football clubs. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your leisure. As the day concludes, we'll return to the hotel.

We'll leave Madrid in the morning and head towards Aragón, passing through the lands of Castile. In Zaragoza, we'll make a brief stop to see the Pilar Basilica. We'll then continue to the Monastery of Poblet, one of the best-preserved medieval monasteries in the world, surrounded by its walls in a beautiful setting. Our journey concludes in Barcelona, where we'll arrive in the evening.

In the morning, we'll embark on a city tour of Barcelona, a city open to the Mediterranean Sea, famous for its modernist architecture, promenades, and memories of the Universal Exhibitions and Olympics. In the evening, we'll leave Barcelona and head north to Girona. Before checking into our hotel, we'll take a walk through Girona's historic center, admiring its colorful houses, the old Jewish quarter, and the cathedral.

We'll leave for France, crossing Provence. We'll make a stop in Arles, a small world heritage city where we'll remember Van Gogh, and can see Roman theatre and small Romanesque churches. We'll then visit the Carrieres de Lumiere, an impressive show of art, image, and sound underground, in former quarries. Our journey concludes in Chambery, the charming capital of Savoy, a medieval city with a beautiful old town and a great castle.

Our journey takes us to Switzerland, starting with a visit to Geneva. We'll explore the Palace of Nations, the English Garden with its floral clock, and admire the Jet d'Eau, the tallest fountain in Europe. We'll then visit the picturesque walled village of Gruyeres, known worldwide for its cheese, and the Cailler chocolate factory, with a tasting included! We'll also visit the fantastic medieval Chillon Castle, built in the waters of the lake. Our day concludes in Leysin, a beautiful little holiday village with spectacular views of the Rhône plain and Mont Blanc. Dinner is included.

Today's stage takes us through beautiful high mountain scenery. We'll take a cable car ride up to Glacier 3000, where you can walk on the suspended bridge in the gap between two mountain peaks, enter the Ice Cathedral, or 'play' in the Fun Park. We'll make a stop in Interlaken for lunch. Among very picturesque lakes, we continue to Lucerne, one of the most beautiful cities in Switzerland. We'll then continue to Zurich, where there is time for a stroll downtown before going to the hotel.

We leave Zurich and head towards the French region of Alsace to visit its capital, Strasbourg, a charming city that combines French and German influences. You'll have time to get to know the city. After that, we continue our route towards Paris, arriving at the end of the day.

We'll start the day by visiting the immense Palace of Versailles (admission not included) with its beautiful gardens. After that, we'll head back to Paris and visit Montmartre, taking a cable car (included) to go up to this bohemian neighborhood known for its painters, artists, and cabarets. To contemplate the beauty of the impressive avenues and monuments of Paris, you will have a city tour with a local guide. Return to the hotel. Optionally, you can attend a variety show.

We'll start the day in the center of Paris, beginning with the Eiffel Tower area. You'll have the opportunity to climb up to the second floor of this remarkable metal monument (ticket included). Then, we enjoy a boat cruise along the River Seine, which divides the north of Paris from the south. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore as you choose. At around 16.00hrs we will leave Paris for Rouen, a city museum with its houses with half-timbered walls, narrow streets, and gothic churches. Accommodation in the city.

Today we'll take a stroll in the center of Rouen to admire its magnificent cathedral and the ancient streets of the historic center. After this, we travel to the north of France. Travelling by ferry, we'll cross the English Channel to reach Canterbury, the religious capital of England with a very attractive historic center. We'll then continue to London, arriving with time to explore, visit Tower Bridge to see it lit up and admire the modern buildings. Time for dinner in one of the many restaurants offering a variety of cuisines. After dinner, return to the hotel.

Get to know London on a locally guided tour featuring style, culture, and history. See the Houses of Parliament, the River Thames, the Tower of London, and Buckingham Palace, where we will be able to watch the famous 'Changing of the Guard' (depending on the season). Afternoon at leisure. In the evening, we will take a walk through Leicester Square, China Town, and Soho, with a lively atmosphere, theatres, and entertainment. There are several restaurants to choose from where you can dine. Return to the hotel.

After breakfast, we'll visit the British Museum, one of the oldest museums in the world. At lunchtime, we transfer to Camden, a district famous for having one of the most varied and extravagant street markets in London. Enjoy some leisure time. At around 16.00 we will leave for Colchester, known as the most ancient city in England. We'll then board the ferry in Harwich, taking a night voyage to the Netherlands.

At around 08:00 in the morning, we'll reach the Netherlands (Hoek Van Holland), making a stop in Volendam, a very picturesque fishing village. After this, we travel to Amsterdam, where we'll enjoy a panoramic visit of the city to see its narrow canals, its official buildings, and parks. We'll also see the technique of diamond cutting. Time for dinner in Rembrandtplein, an area with many restaurants from all corners of the world and near the red-light district with its liberal values.
