Portugal - Best of Portugal

After breakfast, we depart for Coimbra, a city renowned for its ancient university and rich musical traditions. We'll explore the city's baroque library and visit the Santa Clara Church. Next, we head to Aveiro, often referred to as the 'Venice of Portugal' due to its network of canals. Here, you can see the traditional 'moliceiros' boats and sample the local sweet delicacy 'ovos moles'. We end the day in Porto, where you'll spend the night.

We start the day exploring Porto, Portugal's second-largest city. Highlights include the romantic Palácio da Bolsa and the S. Francisco Church. We'll also visit a traditional Port wine cellar for a tasting. Next, we journey to the Minho region, visiting Guimarães, the birthplace of the Portuguese nation, and Braga, known as the 'Rome of Portugal'. Overnight stay in Porto.

We leave Porto and head to Amarante, a charming town on the banks of the Tâmega river. We then traverse the Serra do Marão to reach Vila Real, where we'll visit the fragrant gardens of Mateus Palace. Next, we journey through the vineyards of the Douro region to Lamego, home to the Nossa Senhora dos Remédios Sanctuary. Our final stop is Viseu, a city rich in history and commerce. Overnight stay in Urgeiriça.

We start the day by heading to Bussaco, known for its romantic Hotel Palace and lush vegetation. We then continue to Tomar, a city closely linked to the Order of the Knights Templar, where we'll visit the UNESCO-listed Convent of Christ. We end the day in Lisbon, where you'll spend the night.

After breakfast, we depart for a day of luxury and exploration. We'll visit the charming town of Sintra and the westernmost point of Europe, Cabo da Roca. We'll also visit the cosmopolitan town of Cascais and the gardens of Estoril Casino before returning to Lisbon for the night.

We leave Lisbon and head to Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage city known for its culture, history, and traditions. We'll explore the city's main monuments, including the Roman Temple, the Romanesque-Gothic Cathedral, and the Church of São Francisco. You'll also have the opportunity to appreciate the local handicrafts and taste the region's delicious cuisine. Overnight stay in Évora.

We depart from Évora and head towards Beja, where the tallest tower of a medieval castle in Portugal overlooks the city. We then journey to the Algarve, stopping in Silves, a city dominated by a Moorish Castle. We end the day in Lagos, a cosmopolitan city known for its marina and fishing port. Overnight stay in Lagos.

We start the day at Ponta da Piedade to admire the stunning rock formations. We then head to Sagres, home to the legendary nautical school of Infante D. Henrique. At Cape St. Vincent, the southwesternmost point of Europe, we'll marvel at the imposing cliffs. We return to Lagos for the night.

We say goodbye to the Algarve and head back, stopping in the city of Setúbal. We then cross the Arrábida Mountain Natural Park, known for its unique vegetation and stunning panoramas. We return to Lisbon, marking the end of our unforgettable journey.
