Private Dolphin and Whale Watching Tour in Madeira

Amazing experience from the beginning.

Very professional and warm team. We went to the private tour on Gringo with Emmanuel and Martin. In addition to amazing views we saw a baby sperm wale very close to our boat. Definitely recommend to choose On Tales for your trip and if you have possibility definitely private tour.

The boat trip was fantastic! We had a wonderful time with Bea, our Captain and Rui who were both so informative and knowledgeable about Madeira and the whales, dolphins etc. The four of us are not young by any means and Bea and Rui were also kind and respectful. Would recommend this trip for young and old anytime! Thanks also to Mayung and Emmanuel!

What a fantastic day we had on Miranda 5 of us today seeing dolphins and pilot whales our two hosts were fantastic and lovely people I would 100% recommend the private tour.

My wife and I rented a private boat; On Tales arranged a car for us; the service from On Tales was great and our crew was great; both the captain and our guide had degrees in marine biology; both were friendly and informative; it was a wonderful experience and my wife and I would go again; highly recommend it; we were lucky enough to see 6 whales, tales and all

Had a great time and we were super fortunate to sight Hammerhead sharks and bottlenose dolphins. The crew were very professional and considered what we wanted to do. After sighting the sharks there was no way I was getting in the ocean, so instead they sailed closer to shore so we could see more detail on the coast. Drinks were nice and the boat was very clean. The company arranged transportation for us and they were very prompt. We received about 450 photos from the day and we got some great shots of the dolphins, only suggestion would be that it would be nice to be greeted onto the boat with a glass of sparkling wine and also for some photos to be taken of us from the front, there are a lot of the photos of the back of our heads.

We had the most magical experience celebrating my father’s 70th birthday! Our daughter’s particularly enjoying riding on the front of the boat. With some determination from the crew we managed to find some bottlenose dolphins. Seeing these beautiful creatures in their natural environment was everything we imagined it to be - a truly magical moment! The sparkling wine was good and a nice way to mark the occasion. The photos taken by Chris (crew member) was an added bonus from the trip. Best boat trip we’ve ever done. The communication from booking until we got home was also outstanding. Thank you for an amazing experience from start to finish :)

I do apologise I thought I left a review and I didn't. Mayung and Rosa and the 2 guys on the boat made this the ideal present I bought for my wife. I hate the water, but my wife loves it so I did this for her. Lovely boat and crew, we went out on the day as planned but was warned the seas were rough and we came back to try in 2 days time. Much calmer waters later, sadly we didn't see the dolphins, but we did get to see the island from out at sea which is a once in a lifetime experience and the photos we received was well worth the price. I truly recommend booking this as you won't regret it at all. Nearly forgot to say they gave us a bottle of wine and yes my wife did drink it in one night hah.

Very professional company, would have been enjoyable even without spotting whales or dolphins, but due to perseverance of crew managed to find whole pod of dolphins….magical!

Absolutely unforgettable experience with an amazing crew, we were lucky enough to see Spotted dolphins, flying fish and a sea turtle, stopping to dive off the boat and have a swim. Would highly recommend just for the opportunity to see the island from a different vantage point and the chance to interact with the wildlife in such a calm way. Thankyou very much and I can’t wait to see the pictures!!!

We had a wonderful experience throughout. It was convenient to use WhatsApp to coordinate ahead of the trip. Amazing service as our captain worked with spotters to locate and sail to multiple dolphin groups within our trip. Friendly and informative. Took photos for us so we could focus on the experience as it happened. Highly recommended.
