My 21 year old daughter and I had a 1.5 hour tour of the palace with Stephania. And she was wonderful! She was so incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the city, the royal palace and showed us all sorts of hidden nuggets on our tour. We got SO much more out of our experience because of her! We had a fabulous tour with Belen. The meeting point was easy. She got us through the security line quickly & was a wealth of information. My family (2 elderly parents, my husband & 4 year old) really enjoyed the tour. An hour and a half was plenty of time to see the inside of the palace.

Alex, the guide, was very personable and knowledgeable of Spain's history and the Spanish kings traditions in family and diplomatic events. The main banquet room is impressive.

It was a small group tour and our guide Alex explained about everything we saw inside of the palace. It took us for two hours to explore. Our feet got tired but it was a great experience.

We did a tour of the Royal Palace of Madrid with Olaya. It was excellent! So happy to skip the giant line up we saw outside (tour group went through side entrance). We were provided with small headphone so we could listen to the guide without her raising her voice. I learned a great deal about the history of Spain’s Royal Family, the ones who were great leaders and those who weren’t- these were the most entertaining stories! Olaya had excellent knowledge of history, culture, art and architecture. She able to answer all our questions easily. We went through the entire palace at a reasonable pace, spending just enough time at each location, and was very considerate of our needs. There were many other tour groups with lots of people and they were noisy, so I’m happy with our smaller group. Overall an A + experience from a wonderful guide who clearly loves her country and its history. Thank you for a superb experience!

By the way, I agree with your vision about those who weren't really good at the job, usually, those are the people who deserves a film about not being that good.
