We took the 10am tour, in a group total of 9 people. The canals at that time, in February, were not busy. Captain Dave’s boat is a restored 97 year old one with a rich history, being used previously by Dutch royalty and other dignitaries. Now converted to electric and very quiet. Captain Dave is a true local and is living his dream. His enthusiasm and jovial approach rubs off and a bunch of strangers were quickly made to feel at home. The tour was tailored to suit our preferences and was interesting throughout, with personal anecdotes aplenty. Can’t fault this tour, much better than the bigger, less personal, boats we saw.

I can't imagine you'll find a better host for your canal cruise! Captain Dave was superb, giving us a very personal, knowledgeable, funny and extremely interesting commentary with such passion, almost like he is telling it for the first time.
My husband and I travelled on the 10am cruise, part of a small group of 12 people. Breakfast was included, a delicious traditional sugar bread and any drinks you wanted. We loved the stories and anecdotes and just wished we had longer to visit some of the many recommendations Dave gives of his beloved Amsterdam.
Loved learning about the architecture, the house boats, the history and the peaceful pace of the city while the streets were still quiet. We had a little time to visit one of the museums he recommended before we had to leave for the airport.
Can't recommend Captain Dave enough. Get his cruise in early in your trip so you can go back and explore with his knowledge in mind.

Great experience! Captain Dave gave up his office job to start his own company and I'm so glad he did. The tour was super informative, funny, and it is clear that he takes great pride in offering his guests the best possible service. You will not regret the decision to book!!!

What a great 2 hour canal trip. I took the 10 am tour. Was welcomed by Dave and enjoyed all the guests company. Small group of 11, which felt very intimate. Lovely morning with sugar bread, coffee, fresh juice and smoothies. I highly recommend this tour. Many of the boats that went by didn't look very enthusiastic. Dave answered all our questions and we learned a lot.
