Classic Northern Heritage: six days tour to Maramures and Bucovina from Cluj-Napoca

Welcome to Romania! Your journey begins in the vibrant city of Cluj-Napoca, the unofficial capital of Transylvania. Your guide will pick you up from the airport and take you on a city tour, where you'll visit landmarks like St. Michael's Church, the Banffy Palace and its Museum of Arts, and the Cluj-Napoca Botanical Garden. Spend the night in Cluj-Napoca.

After breakfast, we'll head to the beautiful region of Maramureș. Our first stop will be the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Wooden Church from Surdesti. We'll then visit Breb, a traditional village nestled among the hills, and the Memorial of the Victims of Communism. We'll also visit the world-renowned Merry Cemetery of Sapanta. Overnight in Sighetu Marmatiei.

After breakfast, we'll embark on a scenic ride on the Mocanita, a small steam train that takes us through the Wasser Valley. After a lunch break in nature, we'll visit two of the famous Wooden Churches of Maramures and the Barsana Monastery. We'll also spend the afternoon with a renowned local sculptor. Overnight in Sighetu Marmatiei.

After breakfast, we'll journey through the Carpathian Mountains to the historical region of Bukovina. Here, we'll visit the Moldovita Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After the monastery tour, we'll head to Gura Humorului for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, we'll visit the Sucevita and Voronet Monasteries, two of Bukovina's most beautiful painted monasteries. We'll also visit a local workshop where traditional clothing is made. Overnight in Gura Humorului.

After breakfast, we'll leave Bukovina and head back to Cluj-Napoca, marking the end of our unforgettable journey through Romania.
