Day 1: Edinburgh to Bowmore

Depart from Edinburgh and head west into the stunning Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. Continue your journey west, passing the dramatic viewpoint of the Rest and Be Thankful, before making a short stop in the charming village of Inveraray. From there, you'll travel south through Argyll and the Kintyre Peninsula to Kennacraig, where you'll board the early afternoon ferry to Islay. On arrival into Port Askaig, you'll begin exploring the distilleries of Islay, starting with the Bunnahabhain distillery. After the distillery visit, you'll take a short drive to the village of Bowmore to check into The Bowmore House or Island Bear (or similar) for your 3-night stay.
