Daily Itinerary
Day 1 – Day 1: Edinburgh to Bowmore
Day 1: Edinburgh to Bowmore
Your journey begins in Edinburgh, from where you'll travel northwest through the scenic landscapes of Stirlingshire and the Highlands. You'll catch a ferry from Kennacraig to Islay, enjoying stunning views of the islands of Gigha, Jura, and Islay. Upon arrival in Islay, you'll visit the Bunnahabhain Distillery, known for its peated and unpeated drams. The day concludes with a short drive to Bowmore, where you'll check into The Bowmore House or Island Bear (or similar) for a three-night stay.
Day 2 – Day 2: Bowmore to Bruichladdich Distillery

On your first full day on Islay, you'll explore the southern 'Big Peat' distilleries of Laphroaig, Lagavulin, and Ardbeg. You'll also visit the Bruichladdich Distillery, known for its Botanist Gin and 'the world's peatiest whisky' Octomore. Your guide will also take you to some of their favorite spots on the island, including pristine beaches, quaint villages, and ancient sites like the Kildalton Cross.
Day 3 – Day 3: Bowmore to Kilchoman Distillery

Your second day on Islay will be filled with more distillery visits. You'll explore the Kilchoman Distillery, one of the newer distilleries on the island, where you'll get to see all aspects of the whisky making process. You'll also make a short visit to Bowmore Distillery, the oldest running distillery on the island. Your guide will continue to share their favorite spots on the island with you.
Day 4 – Day 4: Bowmore to Campbeltown
Day 4: Bowmore to Campbeltown
After breakfast in Bowmore, you'll catch the morning ferry back to Kennacraig and head to Campbeltown, once known as 'the whisky capital of the world'. You'll visit Glen Scotia and Springbank distilleries, where you'll tour their facilities and sample delicious cask strength drams. The day concludes with a group farewell dinner and overnight stay at Stonefield Castle (or similar), set in 60 acres of woodland gardens with views of Loch Fyne.
Day 5 – Day 5: Campbeltown to Glasgow
Day 5: Campbeltown to Glasgow
After a leisurely start, you'll travel to the loch-side town of Inveraray, home to the Loch Fyne Whisky shop and your stop for lunch. Your journey will then take you along the shores of Loch Fyne and Loch Long, before climbing up to the Rest and be Thankful pass for sweeping views. You'll then travel to the shores of Loch Lomond, before crossing the River Clyde and arriving in Glasgow, Scotland's largest city. This is the last stop on your tour before returning to Edinburgh.
