Best of the North Coast 500 (Hotel) - 3 days

Our adventure begins in Inverness, where we set off on Scotland’s famed North Coast 500 route. The journey promises awe-inspiring views as we travel towards Ullapool. Along the way, we’ll traverse scenic roads, stopping to admire majestic mountains, sparkling lochs, and beautiful beaches. A visit to the quaint village of Applecross allows us to soak in the natural splendor before arriving at the charming port town of Ullapool by late afternoon. Accommodation for the night will be at The Royal Hotel, Caledonian Hotel, or similar.

Today, our journey takes us through increasingly rugged and mountainous landscapes as we head north. Guided by our knowledgeable driver, we explore some of Scotland’s most stunning sights. Depending on weather conditions and expert recommendations, we might delve into the depths of Smoo Cave, explore the ruins of Ardvreck Castle, or admire the pristine white beaches in the area. After a delightful lunch in a charming Highland village, we continue to Thurso, the northernmost town on the British mainland, where we’ll spend the evening at the Park Hotel, Station Hotel, or similar.

On our final day, we have ample time to explore charming fishing villages, impressive cliffs, and ancient Neolithic sites. Our driver takes us to the northernmost point of mainland Great Britain, where, weather permitting, we might catch a glimpse of the Orkney Isles. Next, we visit Girnigeo Castle, dramatically perched on a windswept cliff, and hear its chilling tales while walking along the wild coast. Continuing south on the North Coast 500 route, we pass through lush valleys and enjoy sea views en route to Dunrobin Castle, pausing for photos of the stately home. Traveling through lands once inhabited by Picts and Vikings, we finally arrive back in Inverness by early evening.
